Location:

New York, NY

At Condé Nast, our events are more than live experiences — they are cultural moments that bring our brands to life in the real world.

From iconic tentpole franchises to immersive editorial experiences, Condé Nast events sit at the intersection of culture, storytelling, entertainment, luxury, and influence. Produced by the Events Studio — the centralized experiential team within Revenue Marketing — these experiences bring together the people who define culture alongside the partners who champion it, creating moments that only Condé Nast can produce. Working closely with Editorial, Sales, Marketing, and external partners, the team translates Condé Nast’s storytelling and brand authority into experiences that drive both cultural impact and business results.

We are seeking a Director, Events to lead the production of high-profile experiences across The New Yorker and Vanity Fair. This role will oversee a portfolio of flagship tentpole franchises, custom programs, and experiential activations while partnering across the Events Studio to deliver best-in-class experiences that reflect the creative ambition, editorial authority, and cultural influence of Condé Nast’s brands.

Responsibilities

Lead Tentpole Event Franchises

  • Own end-to-end production for a portfolio of event franchises across The New Yorker and Vanity Fair

  • Lead the execution of large-scale cultural, entertainment, luxury, and editorially driven experiences, including The New Yorker Festival and Vanity Fair’s Campaign Hollywood

  • Drive event strategy and execution from initial concepting through post-event wrap and reporting

  • Ensure every experience reflects the voice, standards, and creative ambition of each brand

Shape Experiences from the Ground Up

  • Partner closely with Editorial, Revenue, and Marketing teams in the earliest stages of development to shape event concepts, formats, and audience strategy

  • Translate creative ideas into executable production plans, budgets, staffing structures, and timelines

  • Bring a strong point of view to experiential storytelling, guest experience, production design, and programming flow

  • Develop event concepts and guest experiences that are cohesive, audience-centered, and executable at the highest level

  • Ensure the attendee journey — from invitation through onsite experience — is thoughtfully designed and aligned with the goals of each event

Produce Best-in-Class Live Experiences

  • Oversee all aspects of event execution including vendor management, budgeting, contracting, production schedules, venue operations, talent logistics, run-of-show development, and onsite leadership

  • Lead cross-functional teams and external partners to deliver polished, high-touch experiences at the highest level of execution

  • Balance creative ambition with operational feasibility and financial accountability

  • Create clear scopes of work, production plans, and cross-functional alignment to ensure seamless execution across internal teams and external partners

  • Establish strong operational foundations for each event, including defined roles and responsibilities, communication workflows, and production processes

  • Uphold consistent production standards across budgeting, procurement, staffing, vendor management, and onsite execution

Collaborate Across the Events Studio

  • Work closely with Events Studio and Revenue Marketing leadership to scale resources appropriately across projects and timelines

  • Flex across brands and support custom event opportunities as business needs evolve, leveraging shared resources to drive consistency and excellence across programs

  • Partner with fellow producers and Events leadership to continuously elevate production standards, processes, and team collaboration

Drive Production Excellence

  • Maintain clear production documentation, timelines, and budget oversight across all projects

  • Contribute to the evolution of team processes, workflows, and production best practices

  • Participate in post-event recaps and strategic planning conversations to help shape the future of the Events Studio

What Success Looks Like

  • You deliver culturally resonant experiences that are strategically grounded, creatively ambitious, and exceptionally executed

  • Event concepts translate into clear, cohesive guest experiences that resonate with audiences, partners, and stakeholders

  • Editorial, Revenue, Marketing, and client partners feel informed, aligned, and supported throughout the event lifecycle

  • You contribute to a collaborative Events Studio culture that supports both editorial excellence and Revenue Marketing objectives

  • Events are operationally sound, with strong production planning, clear communication, and seamless onsite execution

  • Internal teams and stakeholders have clarity around event scope, deliverables, and executional responsibilities

  • You help scale thoughtful systems, workflows, and production standards that elevate the broader Events Studio

  • You bring leadership, creative problem-solving, and production expertise that consistently raises the bar for the experiences we produce

Profile

  • 8–10 years of experience producing large-scale events, experiential campaigns, festivals, media events, or luxury brand experiences

  • Proven experience leading complex, multi-stakeholder productions from concept through execution

  • Deep understanding of live experience production within media, entertainment, fashion, luxury, music, or culture-driven brands

  • Exceptional creative judgment and strong experiential storytelling instincts

  • Calm under pressure with the ability to navigate fast-moving environments and shifting priorities

  • Strong leadership presence with experience managing senior stakeholders, talent, agencies, vendors, and cross-functional teams

  • Highly organized with strong command of budgets, timelines, contracts, and production operations

  • Passion for culture, media, storytelling, and audience experience
