Job DescriptionPosition Summary
The Director of Events is responsible for leading the sales, planning, and execution of local and group events across a portfolio of hospitality venues. This position manages the Events team and works closely with clients and internal departments to ensure each event reflects the highest standards of service, presentation, and guest satisfaction. The Director of Events is also responsible for driving event sales revenue through strategic planning and client relationship development, while ensuring alignment with brand standards and profitability goals. This position reports to the Director of Sales & Marketing.
The salary range for this position is $90,000 - $115,000. Actual pay will be dependent on budget and experience; all our salaried roles are eligible for bonus.

Essential Job Functions/ Key Job Responsibilities
• Sell and coordinate local and group events across all on-property and off-site venues
• Supervise and support the Sales Managers and Coordinator
• Collaborate with meeting planners to gather event details and communicate plans through BEOs and group resumes
• Lead weekly BEO meetings and ensure all relevant departments are aligned on upcoming events
• Attend events at key touchpoints to ensure satisfaction and introduce key staff members
• Work with banquet and culinary leadership to ensure service quality and presentation meet brand standards
• Provide timely responses to all client inquiries and maintain strong client relationships
• Conduct pre-conference and post-conference meetings with appropriate stakeholders to confirm details and resolve billing
• Stay informed on local business and social trends to better anticipate event needs and opportunities
• Collaborate with the Director of Sales & Marketing to support revenue goals and assist with team-wide initiatives
• Interview, train, and manage Events team members in accordance with company policies and standards
• Complete other duties and projects as assigned, and support cross-functional efforts as needed during peak periods

Education & Experience Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, or related field required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a senior-level catering, events, or sales leadership role required
• Proven track record of success in a luxury hospitality environment; experience at a Forbes Five-Star or AAA Five-Diamond property strongly preferred
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• In-depth knowledge of event planning, sales strategy, and hospitality industry standards
• Strong understanding of banquet operations, culinary coordination, and event logistics
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interface confidently with clients, vendors, and cross-functional teams
• Proven leadership experience with hiring, training, and managing high-performing teams
• Skilled in building and maintaining long-term client relationships to drive repeat business
• Ability to craft creative event concepts and menus aligned with brand identity and guest expectations
• Proficient in event management software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite
• Strong organizational and time management skills with a high attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple events simultaneously under tight deadlines
• Financial acumen to develop profit plans, analyze costs, and support billing accuracy
• Adept at resolving guest concerns and handling last-minute changes with professionalism
• Knowledge of market trends and local business/social environment to identify growth opportunities
Work Environment & Physical Demands
• Ability to stand, walk or be on your feet for extended periods of time, kneeling and bending may be required
• Regularly work indoors with no adverse conditions
• Must be able to occasionally lift, push or pull up to 50 lbs. individually or with assistance (weight limits can vary according to position, but no more than 50)
