We are seeking a legally grounded, empathetic, and strategic leader to serve as the Director of Equity and Title IX and institutional Title IX Coordinator. Reporting directly to the Chief Equity and Conduct Officer, you will lead a dedicated Equity Team to drive the strategic implementation, enforcement, and maintenance of compliance policies. In this high-impact role, you will champion a safe, equitable, and inclusive environment for our global community of performing artists and scholars. Key Responsibilities

System Management & Regulatory Compliance:

  • Title IX Coordination: Oversee the institutional Equity and Title IX system, ensuring meticulous compliance with Title VI, Title VII, Title IX, VAWA, and matching federal/state laws.
  • Team Supervision: Directly manage, mentor, and provide structural leadership for the professional staff within the Equity and Title IX Team.
  • Leadership Collaboration: Partner closely with the Chief Equity Officer and the Director of Community Standards and Conflict Resolution to realize a coordinated, connected, and collaborative approach across both functional areas.
  • Trend Analysis & Reporting: Track data points from climate surveys and incident reports to identify systemic trends, authoring analytical semesterly reports to inform prevention efforts.

Investigation, Outreach & Response:

  • Grievance Resolution: Coordinate and oversee objective, trauma-informed investigations of reports involving discrimination, harassment, and sexual misconduct.
  • Direct Intervention: Fulfill operational needs during high-volume periods, including emergency on-call response, conducting intake meetings, and facilitating procedural appeals.
  • Supportive Measures: Provide compassionate assistance to students, faculty, and staff, answering complex procedural questions regarding rights, accommodations, and resource referrals.
  • Comprehensive Programming: Partner across divisions to develop multimedia educational outreach, training materials, and workshops that clarify institutional rights and obligations.

What You'll Bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required; a Master's degree in Student Affairs, Higher Education Administration, Law, or a closely related field is highly desired.
  • Experience: Minimum of 8–10 years of progressive professional experience in higher education, civil rights, student affairs, or equity compliance.
  • Leadership Domain: Proven track record supervising professional staff and direct experience conducting or managing complex civil rights investigations and grievances.
  • Core Competencies: Expert knowledge of federal compliance frameworks (Title IX, VAWA), excellent data-driven decision-making abilities, and a high degree of cultural competence to interface safely across intersectional identities.

Hiring Range: $115,000 to $135,000; salary dependent on experience and education.
