Role Overview
Metergy Solutions is seeking a Director, Enterprise Technology Programs to serve as the right hand to the VP of IT - driving transformation, structure, and innovation across our enterprise technology landscape.
This is a high-impact role for a seasoned professional who thrives in dynamic environments, excels at bringing order to complexity, and is passionate about leading cross-functional initiatives that deliver measurable business value. You’ll be at the forefront of shaping Metergy’s IT roadmap, optimizing operations, and preparing to step into future executive leadership.
This role is 4 days a week in office at our Markham head office.
Responsibilities
- Shape the IT Roadmap: Maintain and evolve the IT roadmap, ensuring resource alignment and cross-departmental collaboration to support strategic goals.
- Deliver Complex Projects: Oversee a portfolio of IT projects from initiation to transition, ensuring alignment with business cases, change management, and execution excellence.
- Risk & Issue Management: Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, ensuring timely resolution and escalation.
- Lead Strategic IT Initiatives: Drive enterprise-wide programs that improve service delivery, reduce costs, and enhance operational efficiency.
- Optimize Processes: Identify bottlenecks and implement best practices to streamline workflows and elevate performance across IT operations.
- Financial Stewardship: Conduct financial analysis, manage budgets, support contract negotiations, and optimize resource allocation.
- Foster Team Culture: Build trust-based relationships across IT teams, promoting accountability, collaboration, and shared ownership.
- Build Metrics & Insights: Design and maintain dashboards that track IT performance, uncover trends, and enable data-driven decision-making.
- Champion AI & Automation: Explore and implement AI and automation opportunities to drive innovation and operational excellence.
- Develop Delivery Models: Lead the design and implementation of IT delivery frameworks (ITIL, MOE, DevOps) tailored to Metergy’s evolving needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in IT operations, program delivery, and process improvement.
- Proven success in leading complex, cross-functional technology initiatives.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing IT budgets and contracts.
- Excellent analytical, reporting, and strategic planning skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Experience with AI, automation, and emerging technologies is a strong asset.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills, with a track record of building high-performing teams.
