The Opportunity

eCornell is seeking a high-performing Director, Enterprise Programs to expand strategic partnerships with leading organizations and drive enterprise learning solutions that create measurable business impact.

In this highly consultative business development role, you will engage senior executives and enterprise decision-makers to identify workforce development needs and align them with Cornell University's world-class online education offerings. This includes eCornell's professional certificate programs, OnDemand solutions, and customized learning opportunities across Cornell's colleges and executive education units

This remote-based position requires the employee to reside within the Southeast territory, preferably in Georgia or Florida, to effectively support client engagement, business development activities, and regional responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and grow a robust enterprise sales pipeline across an assigned territory.

  • Prospect and engage Fortune 1000 organizations and other large employers.

  • Build strategic account plans that identify growth opportunities and accelerate revenue generation.

  • Collaborate closely with internal sales and program teams to execute successful account strategies. 

  • Conduct executive-level discovery conversations to uncover workforce development and talent needs.

  • Design customized learning solutions aligned with organizational objectives.

  • Present to C-suite and senior leadership audiences.

  • Position eCornell's offerings as scalable solutions that drive employee development, leadership growth, and organizational performance. 

  • Manage a designated enterprise territory with responsibility for achieving and exceeding revenue goals.

  • Execute strategic sales plans to deliver quarterly and annual bookings targets.

  • Negotiate pricing, scope, and contract terms to secure mutually beneficial partnerships.

  • Manage an anticipated revenue portfolio in excess of $2 million annually. 

  • Maintain accurate sales activity, opportunity, and account information in Salesforce.

  • Deliver regular pipeline and forecast reporting.

  • Use data and market intelligence to inform strategy and maximize performance.

 

About the Department 

As Cornell University’s online learning unit, eCornell delivers online professional certificate courses to individuals and organizations around the world. Courses are personally developed by Cornell faculty with expertise in a wide range of topics, including data analytics, management, marketing, human resources, leadership, and STEM. Students learn in an interactive, small cohort format to gain skills they can immediately apply in their organizations, while earning a professional certificate from Cornell University. eCornell has offered online learning courses and certificate programs for 15 years to over 130,000 students at more than 2,000 companies. 

What We Need

  • Bachelor's degree and 5 to 10+ years of experience in business development, enterprise sales, marketing, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Demonstrated record of success in a quota-carrying, goal-oriented sales environment.

  • Experience selling leadership development, eLearning, executive education, professional development, training, professional services, or consulting solutions.

  • Proven success engaging and influencing C-suite executives.

  • Outstanding presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • Self-motivated, organized, and highly results-oriented.

  • Experience using Salesforce CRM, Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and AI-enabled productivity tools.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams while independently managing a territory and pipeline.

  • This position is based in Ithaca, New York, however, the successful applicant may perform this role remotely anywhere within the United States. Employees who work remotely may receive multiple W-2 Forms depending on their work location.
     

  • The New York Convenience of employer guidelines require New York State individual tax reporting and withholding for this position. Additional individual state income tax filings may also be required if working temporarily outside of New York State.
