Summary:
In this role, you will provide strategic and technical leadership across engineering teams to ensure delivery excellence, scalability, and alignment with enterprise objectives. You will lead cross-functional initiatives, develop technical roadmaps, and partner with product, architecture, and business stakeholders to deliver secure and reliable solutions. You will coach and develop engineering talent, drive organizational effectiveness, and establish engineering standards and best practices that support long-term business success.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop engineering teams through coaching, mentorship, and regular performance discussions.
- Drive performance management, career development, and succession planning initiatives.
- Recruit, develop, and retain engineering talent to support organizational and product objectives.
- Assess organizational health and guide team design to align with business priorities.
- Partner with Product Management and Architecture to develop and align technical roadmaps with enterprise strategy.
- Establish and enforce engineering standards, best practices, and scalable delivery processes.
- Lead technical risk assessment, mitigation planning, and resolution of complex engineering challenges.
- Oversee cross-team coordination, resource planning, and delivery execution for complex initiatives.
- Communicate delivery progress, risks, and outcomes to stakeholders and executive leadership.
- Champion cross-domain collaboration, process improvement, and organizational scaling strategies.
Qualifications:
- Relevant degree preferred.
- 7 or more years of relevant experience required.
- Demonstrated success leading engineering teams within a matrixed environment required.
- Experience aligning technical strategy and delivery with organizational goals required.
- Strong knowledge of Agile delivery practices and software development lifecycle methodologies required.
- Experience establishing engineering standards, governance, and best practices required.
- Background supporting infrastructure, platform engineering, or shared services teams preferred.
- Experience designing and deploying large-scale data applications preferred.
- Experience working within regulated industries such as healthcare preferred.
Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $135,200.00 to $236,600.00.This position is also incentive eligible.
