Director, Engineering

Summary of the Role

In this role, you will lead Creation Platform Services, delivering custom middleware and analytics solutions that support travel brands and partners. You will enable business automation, system integration, data management, and analytics using the Amadeus Creation Platform, while shaping API extension and tooling capabilities.

In This Role You’ll / Your Main Responsibilities

• Lead Creation Platform Services delivery, providing middleware and analytics solutions using the Amadeus Creation Platform
• Manage service demand and collaborate with customers to identify, design, and deliver new solutions through structured ideation workshops
• Design, build, and operate middleware platforms, including Application Programming Interface (API) extensions, orchestration, and tooling such as ARCAD
• Collaborate with partners and internal teams to strengthen customer ecosystems and ensure scalable, stable, and high‑performing solutions
• Oversee production support and customer inquiries, ensuring timely resolution and continuous service improvement

• Manage teams and people managers with accountability for delivery, performance, and outcomes across related units
• Develop departmental plans, coordinate resources, and contribute to policy and operational model development
• Identify and address business challenges that may impact the wider function or division
• Work autonomously while collaborating closely with stakeholders in a complex, global environment

Specific Accountabilities

• Define and communicate the technical and functional roadmap and vision in line with department, division, and company objectives
• Monitor and report on team activities, delivery progress, and operational performance
• Develop priorities and plans to address resource, operational, and budget considerations
• Identify and suggest improvements to processes, delivery flows, and operational models
• Collaborate with software development, architecture, solutions, and quality assurance teams to ensure systems are designed for testability, stability, scalability, and performance

About the Ideal Candidate

• Has relevant engineering experience, with exposure to middleware, platform‑based solutions, and APIs
• Has experience working with customers and stakeholders 
• Demonstrates the ability to collaborate and influence effectively in a global, multicultural context
• Has experience working in or with European business environments, where relevant to the role
• Demonstrates engagement, curiosity, and a commitment to continuous improvement
