Your Mission at Energage
Your mission as a Director of Engineering at Energage is to lead a team of senior software engineering leads to deliver impactful results that are aligned with the company objectives by effective management of personnel, implementation and oversight of industry leading Agile and Lean product development patterns, and collaboration with key stakeholders in Product Management, Architecture, People/Data Science, Experience Design, Quality Assurance, and stakeholders outside of the Product Development organization.
Accountability & Impact:
In this role, you’ll...
- Lead small teams of senior technical individuals developing SaaS HRTech products.
- Drive the evolution of the engineering organization from one using common Agile/Lean frameworks to one with smaller teams of smart people, aided by AI-assisted engineering.
- Collaborate in the creation of roadmaps using forward-thinking Agile and Lean approaches, using lightweight techniques, enabling empirical feedback that is then utilized to refine plans as needed.
- Drive the full talent lifecycle for your org, holding yourself and team accountable for creating a healthy culture of support, growth and excitement that empowers our teams to deliver at a high level.
- Work closely with cross-functional partners to deliver impactful results with minimal waste.
- Understand how to pragmatically utilize AI-assisted engineering to increase velocity and quality and drive the adoption in a pragmatic manner.
What You Bring to the Role:
- 15+ years of Engineering experience
- Experience leading teams in the development of enterprise-class SaaS products.
- Experience with hiring and talent development via formal and informal mentoring and training.
- Experience with the development and utilization of a product-line architecture.
- Experience working with multiple globally distributed teams, understanding their goals, and helping them understand and implement new architectural decisions.
- Expertise with modern patterns and approaches to software development.
- Experience applying the appropriate Agile and Lean principles pragmatically.
- Experience with legacy modernization patterns and practices.
- Comfortable creating the minimally sufficient amount of documentation, including diagramming when appropriate.
- An aversion to over-architecting and unnecessary complexity.
- Capable of working with a variety of stakeholders, multiple teams (on-shore and off-shore), and leading by influence.
Compensation and Benefits
This position has a salary range of $170,000 to $210,000 annually based on relevant experience. This role is also bonus-eligible.

This role is open to remote candidates, with preference given to those within driving distance of our Exton, PA office, as occasional in-person visits will be required. Priority will be given to candidates residing in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York (excluding the five boroughs of NYC), Pennsylvania, and Virginia. We will also consider exceptional candidates living in Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Michigan, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Wisconsin. Candidates residing outside of these states will not be considered for this role.
