What we need
Greenbox Logistics is building an innovative fulfillment network from the ground up—and automation is central to our strategy. As Director of Automation Engineering, you’ll lead the design, deployment, and continuous improvement of the automation systems that power our facilities. You’ll act as the technical lead for our automation partnership with Symbotic, overseeing joint development workstreams and tailoring their platform to meet Greenbox’s unique requirements. You’ll build and lead the automation team that will be driving the design, construction, and rollout of automation across new and existing sites.
What we do
GreenBox is pioneering warehousing-as-a-service, offering outsourced warehousing operations and specializing in automated warehousing solutions. Our focus is on the efficient movement of goods in cases and pallets across all sectors, such as wholesale, retail, and general merchandising.
*GreenBox is an independently managed joint venture between Symbotic and Softbank.
What you’ll do
Own the technical relationship with Symbotic, managing collaboration on system enhancements, timelines, and site deployments.
Lead automation initiatives focused on accelerating implementation schedules, lowering costs, and delivering site-specific functionality.
Oversee internal engineering teams responsible for automation design, deployment, and support.
Coordinate closely with site design, operations, and software teams to ensure successful integration and performance.
Identify opportunities to optimize system architecture, reliability, and maintainability.
Support upgrades and enhancements to automation systems already in operation across the GreenBox network.
What you’ll need
Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering, or a related technical field.
Minimum 10 years of experience in automation engineering, robotics, or systems integration, preferably in warehouse or manufacturing environments.
Strong understanding of automated material handling systems and industrial controls.
Demonstrated success managing vendor relationships and cross-functional engineering teams.
Experience deploying complex systems from concept through commissioning.
Our Environment
Travel is required up to 50% of the time. Employee must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
The employee is responsible to own a credit card and manage expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
