About the role:

As a Director of Engineering, you are a responsible, driven individual with solid project management skills, evidence of a strong work ethic, adaptability and exceptional leadership skills. You will oversee a team of Engineering and Maintenance specialists responsible for all engineering operations for interior/exterior facilities including plumbing, refrigeration, heating/cooling, painting, carpentry, structural, recycling, electrical, ground care and parking areas, energy/green initiative systems and management of other engineering work necessary to maintain the property in an efficient condition.

Reporting to the Hotel Manager per se; ad interim to the General Manager of the property, you will be responsible to provide technical support to the hotel in the area of technical management with value added engineering, with an oversight of the Security department to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and employees.

What You will do:

• Support, mentor and develop employees for today and the future.
• Maintain harmonious and professional relationships with all departments and Home Office.
• Deal with all disciplinary and grievance matters in a consistent manner and ensure each issue is appropriately documented.
• Assist in establishing policies, rules, internal controls and safeguards.
• Actively network within the community to attract potential candidates for recruitment purposes and understanding the competitive market.
• Member of the Hotel Leadership team who collectively make key strategic and operational decisions for the Hotel.
• Control the budget costs and is responsible for respecting the budget limits.

What You will bring:

• 10 years previous management experience in hotel or building engineering maintenance.
• Professional degree in an Engineering discipline, trade degree in a specific technical field relating to Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Civil Engineering).
• Strong project management skills.
• Strategic, proactive, influential, energetic, with a proven track record in being a Co-Pilot to the Hotel Manager in all property aspects.
• Highest level of integrity and transparency.
• Fluent written and spoken English. Czech language advantageous, but not mandatory.
