Kyoto
The 123-room Four Seasons Hotel Kyoto is the company’s second destination in Japan, in the city’s historic Higashiyama-ku district, close to the Kyoto National Museum and myriad heritage sites such as the Toyokuni Shrine and Kiyomizu Temple. Local artists are featured throughout the traditionally-inspired modern décor characterized by an understated Japanese aesthetic. The Hotel has a spa and fitness center with a pool, and four food and beverage concepts. There are also 57 Four Seasons Private Residences.
About the role
Reporting to the Hotel Manager / General Manager of the properties, you will be responsible to provide technical support to the hotel in the area of technical management with value added engineering with an oversight of the Security department. The objective is to maintain the hotel product with respect to the finishes of all guest facilities, back-of-house areas and technical services infrastructure to a level that exceeds and ensures guests' expectations and safety. Based in Osaka property with regular trip between 2 properties, Osaka and Kyoto.
What you will do

Supervise and manage the partner maintenance company to ensure all duties and responsibilities are done

Controls property, operation, maintenance and energy cost and ensures that expenses are within approved budget

Develop Fire Emergency Plan and conduct fire evacuation drills on a regular basis to tests effectiveness of the plan

The ability to maintain all the fire-fighting equipment in first class order. Ensure that the Emergency Response Team has a complete understanding of all procedures, equipment and alarms.

Review Perfect Room Program schedule and ensure compliance and implementation on a regular basis

Maintains records of all malfunction reports from all departments and prepare remedial schedule for implementation by the Engineering Department

Negotiates with contractors on Engineering project work to be performed in the hotel

Develop and maintain a hotel preventive maintenance program and conducts field inspections of public areas and back-of-house areas to ensure fixtures, fittings and interior works are within prescribed standards established by the hotel

Ensure the hotel is compiling with all statutory requirements of the local regulations and laws as required for a building

Formulate periodically Engineering policies and procedures and ensure strict adherence by contracted company to such P&Ps
-
Establish and maintain core engineering standards for the hotel and monitor closely such compliance is being adhered to by contracted company

Review requests for Engineering Works for guest rooms and public areas are given priority without neglecting back-of-house areas

Prepare annual operating budget including replacement and repairs equipment for all departments

Review monthly P&L statement and ensure that expenditure is controlled and within budget
-
Coordinate and supervise special projects, including capital projects of the hotel
What you bring
-
Graduate degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree in an Engineering field

Minimum 5 to 6 years of experience in similar capacity with Four Seasons or another related organization

Be service oriented and be able to display Four Seasons Hotel standard of hospitality at all times
-
Possess a working knowledge of division operations as well as Four Seasons cultural and core standards, policies, and standard operating procedures

Requires reading, writing and oral proficiency in the English and Japanese language
