Position Summary:

The Director of Engineering Systems is responsible for improving how engineering executes across the Air Cooling platform. This role leads the Applications Engineering organization while driving process maturity across engineering, from Sales handoff through production. The position partners with Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, and Operations to improve execution, coach engineering leaders, and build scalable systems that support continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Applications Engineering: Lead the Applications Engineering team through the Applications Engineering Manager while improving technical consistency, responsiveness, and team development.
  • Engineering Process: Improve handoffs between Sales, Applications Engineering, Product Management, and Production Engineering to reduce delays and improve execution.
  • Standardization: Develop practical engineering processes, templates, and best practices that scale with company growth.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Operations to improve project execution and customer outcomes.
  • Leadership Development: Coach engineering managers and technical leaders to strengthen accountability, communication, and organizational capability.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and implement improvements that increase engineering quality, efficiency, and predictability.
  • Strategic Initiatives: Support key engineering and operational initiatives that improve execution across the Air Cooling platform.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Required:

  • 10+ years of engineering leadership experience in engineered-to-order or industrial manufacturing.
  • Experience leading Applications Engineering, Engineering Operations, or Production Engineering.
  • Strong understanding of engineering workflows from customer requirements through manufacturing.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.

Preferred:

  • HVAC, thermal management, or custom equipment experience.
  • Lean or Continuous Improvement experience.
  • Experience implementing scalable engineering processes.
  • Private equity or high-growth manufacturing experience.
