Key Responsibilities:
- Own Production Operations and Engineering support for critical data platform applications including our proprietary Data and Analytics Platform (DAP) in Google Cloud.
- Lead the observability, investigation and response to incidents in Production, and work closely with application/operations teams to actively identify & resolve performance issues.
- Setup processes and supporting tools to ensure reliability in production data operations in close partnership with internal and external stakeholders.
- Act as a Cloud-based BigData applications SME, to advise various BU/IT teams on architectural, design, performance tuning, cost efficiencies, and operations related issues.
- Contribute to the design, coding, and software upkeep to improve the availability, scalability, latency, and efficiency of applications, incorporating third-¬party open-source tools when available.
- Oversee team of engineers, coordinate scheduling, task management, planning, and growth of team members.
- Manage communication during major incidents to both business and technology stakeholders.
- Support the roll-out and operationalization of new public cloud services and applications.
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related fields.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar position.
- Holding Advanced Certifications in AWS and/or GCP and/or Big Data platforms (Databricks, Snowflake, etc.).
- Experience working in a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or Application Support role, specifically focused on data platforms or data-intensive applications.
- Experience supporting cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Snowflake, GCP Dataflow, Big Query, Cloud SQL, Alloy DB, Mongo DB, ETL/ELT, etc.).
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and observability tools tailored for data pipelines (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, Open Telemetry, etc.).
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices and DevSecOps tooling (e.g., GitHub Actions, Jenkins, SonarQube, Snyk) for data pipeline deployments.
- Strong experience in SQL and data analysis, with the ability to query, interpret, and validate large datasets.
- Hands-on experience in data incident management, including detection, triage, resolution, and post-incident reviews.
- Deep expertise in debugging and root cause analysis of complex data pipelines across distributed systems.
- Strong understanding of data quality, data governance, and compliance in production environments.
- Experience in collaborating with cross functional teams and creating/leading cross-functional programs to bring about greater operational efficiency.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite skills.
