About the Role:
CrowdStrike is seeking an Engineering Director for the NG-SIEM (next generation security information and event management) Ingest team. The Ingest team is responsible for enabling CrowdStrike customers to seamlessly ingest petabytes of third party data per day into the Falcon platform. Onboarding data into a SIEM platform is a tedious endeavor for customers, the charter of this team is to reduce the time taken from months to days. The team owns all the frameworks, operations and the features to enable ingesting data. This is a critical role in the organization, responsible for driving teams across India, US and Europe, and for leading the charge on making the Falcon platform the best place for tens of thousands of customers to consolidate all of their security data.
This role is open to candidates in the Aarhus area and the wider Denmark area also. Those in the Aarhus area will be expected to go to the Aarhus Office 2-3 times a week. Those who are located further afield will be expected to go to the Aarhus Office once or twice a month.
What You'll Do:
Drive forward in-house cutting edge Search technology and foster innovation in this space.
Uphold operational excellence for the NG-SIEM Search engineering space. Be a champion of secure, high-quality engineering, and drive teams towards architectures that strike right balance between availability, scalability, and cost;
Lead by example on customer and product focus;
Move our product mission forward: partner with multiple stakeholders to develop technical and product strategy and roadmap, and own the execution of that roadmap;
CrowdStrike is growing and you will be instrumental in the hiring, retention, mentorship, and growth of our world class engineering teams;
Your impact is not bounded and you will be enabled to engage and collaborate with various teams and ensure our product’s success. You will work cross functionally with your peers in the product engineering organization as well as with field leaders in sales, customer success, and support;
We are a remote first company so you must bring your excellent verbal and written communication skills to bear when you are working with teams across the globe. You’ll also travel a few times every year to meet with your teams and peers.
What You'll Need:
12+ years of experience architecting, designing, and developing multiple software products/releases, preferably in a SaaS delivery model, across all phases of the development lifecycle;
8+ years of experience managing teams of 6+ individual contributors reporting to you and delivering multiple major milestones of products, as well as 3+ years of managing several teams and managers that report to you. Demonstrated track record of building strong engineering teams and management teams;
History of moving forward technology in deep technical areas, both directly and by fostering innovative teams;
History of positive impact on customer experience and business results;
Demonstrated track record of building and operating large scale distributed systems that process petabyte of data per day as well as a deep applied understanding of discrete and distributed systems concepts;
Demonstrated track record of operational excellence when operating services that span many components across several geographical regions;
Experience working with remote teams across geographies and cultures;
Ability to communicate and articulate crisply at all levels from executive staff to individual contributors.
Bonus Points:
Experience working in the search and query technology space;
Solid grounding in the technology of at least one cloud environment (AWS, Azure, GCP);
Experience with hybrid cloud environments;
Exposure to/experience with cybersecurity and intelligence;
Machine learning and data science familiarity and hands-on experience.
