The Opportunity at Komodo Health
At Komodo Health, we are building the next-gen analytics and AI cloud platform to power our healthcare data. As part of this effort, we are fundamentally integrating machine learning and generative AI technologies into the platform to drive actionable insights and deliver value to our customers faster. We are at a pivotal moment, and you have the chance to join us and lead our AI efforts across the engineering organization by collaborating with product and data science teams and developing a strategic and technical roadmap, and delivering on it. In this role, you will have a significant impact by helping major life sciences and healthcare companies seamlessly leverage Komodo's data platform to drive transformative outcomes in the industry.
Looking back on your first 12 months at Komodo Health, you will have…
- Managed, coordinated, and delivered on key initiatives such as developing new AI capabilities in the platform and delivering MapAI product features for our Healthcare Map.
- Improved data quality, platform security, and release automation for AI roadmap delivery.
- Delivered a scalable foundation for continuous model development, testing, and delivery, as well as other Gen AI features to our customers..
- Partnered closely with other teams across the Engineering and Product Organizations, Program Management, and Technical Leads to weigh in on project priorities, project estimation, and risk identification for roadmap projects.
- Actively coached and inspired your team with timely and actionable feedback synthesized from peer input.
- Contributed to hiring and growing the team by recruiting world-class engineers, ML experts, and Data Scientists.
What you bring to Komodo Health:
- Engineering management experience with AI applications in high-growth engineering organizations directly managing and growing teams of 10+ engineers.
- You have in-depth knowledge and experience in industry-leading technologies in machine learning (ML) and AI.
- You have developed and delivered successful products from inception to production at scale using cloud technologies for large enterprises.
- You have a working knowledge of a modern programming language (Python preferred), data pipeline engineering, relational database design, web platform development, API design, and distributed systems.
- Expertise with industry standard data pipeline and processing tools (Spark, AWS EMR, Hadoop) and data warehousing (Redshift, Snowflake, BigQuery).
- Experience collaborating with Product and Engineering teams to build a high-level roadmap and vision for a team delivering against a collaboratively defined roadmap.
- Understand and design for non-functional concerns such as performance, cost optimization, and maintainability.
- Experience leading recruiting initiatives, as well as growing and organizing engineering teams.
- Ability to work as part of an agile collaborative team in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation at Komodo Health
The pay range for each job posting reflects a minimum and maximum range of pay that we reasonably expect to pay across all U.S. locations and may span more than one career level. We carefully consider multiple business-related factors when determining compensation, including job-related skills, work experience, geographic work location, relevant training and certifications, business needs and market demands.
The U.S. national starting annual base pay for this role is listed below. This position may be eligible for performance-based bonuses as determined in the Company’s sole discretion and in accordance with a written agreement or plan.
$214,000—$334,000 USD
Where You’ll Work
Komodo Health has a hybrid work model; we recognize the power of choice and importance of flexibility for the well-being of both our company and our individual Dragons. Roles may be completely remote based anywhere in the country listed, remote but based in a specific region, or local (commuting distance) to one of our hubs in San Francisco, New York City, or Chicago with remote work options.
