Summary:
In this role, you will provide senior technical and organizational leadership across the Data and Intelligence Platform domain to ensure engineering excellence, delivery capability, and consistent execution. You will develop engineering talent through coaching and performance management, translate enterprise strategy into actionable technical roadmaps, and partner with product, architecture, data science, security, operations, and client teams to deliver secure, scalable, and innovative platform capabilities that support analytics, artificial intelligence, and data-driven decision making.
Responsibilities:
· Lead engineering teams through coaching, mentorship, performance management, and career development.
· Recruit, develop, and retain engineering talent to strengthen organizational depth and capability.
· Align quarterly and long-term technical roadmaps with enterprise, product, and platform strategies.
· Partner with product, architecture, and data leaders to guide technical design and dependency management.
· Establish engineering standards and best practices to support quality, security, scalability, and operational excellence.
· Lead technical risk assessment, mitigation planning, and resolution of complex technical challenges.
· Oversee delivery goals, Agile execution, and cross-team coordination for complex initiatives and programs.
· Guide resource allocation and priority setting in partnership with engineering and product leaders.
· Communicate progress, risks, and outcomes with client teams and executive leadership.
· Champion cross-domain collaboration, knowledge sharing, process improvement, and enterprise alignment.
· Drive modernization of data and intelligence platforms through cloud-native architectures, automation, and platform engineering practices.
· Support the development of trusted, governed, and reusable enterprise data assets that accelerate innovation and business value.
· Define and monitor metrics that measure platform health, adoption, reliability, engineering productivity, and operational maturity.
Qualifications:
· Relevant degree preferred. Advanced degree preferred.
· 7 or more years of relevant experience required.
· Demonstrated success operating in a matrixed environment and aligning technical decisions with strategic goals required.
· Experience leading engineering teams and developing technical talent required.
· Experience building, scaling, or operating enterprise platform, data, analytics, or shared services engineering teams required.
· Experience developing and executing technical roadmaps aligned with business and product strategies required.
· Experience delivering enterprise-scale solutions within public cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure required.
· Strong understanding of modern data architectures, distributed systems, platform engineering, and cloud-native engineering practices required
· Experience with Databricks, lakehouse platforms, enterprise data platforms, or similar technologies preferred.
· Experience with AI/ML, analytics platforms, data products, knowledge management, or generative AI initiatives preferred.
· Experience driving DevOps practices, Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD capabilities, observability, and platform automation preferred.
· Experience in healthcare, SaaS, or other regulated industries preferred.
· Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.

Estimated Hiring Range:
At Vizient, we consider skills, experience, and organizational needs in our compensation approach. Geographic factors may adjust the range estimate and hires typically fall below the top range. Compensation decisions are tailored to individual circumstances. The current salary range for this role is $135,200.00 to $236,600.00.This position is also incentive eligible.
