Title and Summary
Director Employee Relations
Overview
Mastercard is looking for an experienced Employee Relations professional to join its Global Employee Relations team. Working closely with People Business Partners, Employment Law, Compliance and business stakeholders, the successful candidate will develop and apply Employee Relations best practices and processes to support our culture of decency and fairness, consistent with Mastercard values and local laws across the Asia Pacific region. Hybrid flexible working is available.
Role
- Provide expert advice to People Business Partners, managers and employees on company policies and processes
- Partner with internal Employment Counsel, Compliance and People Business Partners to effectively manage employee relations matters and investigations
- Investigate concerns raised, including complaints of discrimination, harassment, retaliation and other workplace-related issues
- Prepare investigation documentation, including interview notes and summaries of findings
- Prepare, track and maintain appropriate investigation and reorganisation data and documentation
- Use the case management system to manage matters from intake through to resolution
- Provide and manage periodic reporting to relevant senior stakeholders
- Establish strong cross-functional relationships at all levels across the Asia Pacific region
- Provide sound Employee Relations advice and guidance to People Business - Partners and managers across APAC on a range of topics including performance management, organisational change, mergers and acquisitions, disciplinary processes, absence management and managing risk in termination of employment, within the framework of leading with care
- Partner with relevant control functions on investigations and outcomes
- Create insights from data to inform process improvements and help drive a culture consistent with Mastercard values
All About You
- Experience in a multinational, fast-paced organisation
- CIPD qualified or equivalent work experience
- Strong Human Resources background, with solid Employee Relations experience and a demonstrated passion for ER
- Good understanding of employment and labour laws across Asia Pacific markets, with the ability to navigate differing local legal frameworks
- Proven project management skills, with demonstrated ability to drive regional or global projects
- Experience advising on a wide range of employee relations matters
- Strong investigative skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to organise and analyse data effectively
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with demonstrated patience, tact and respect
- Exceptional attention to detail, coupled with excellent verbal and written communication skills
