Position summary:
 

The Director of Dual Credit will support KC’s mission by managing and facilitating dual credit partnerships with assigned area high schools. The Director of Dual Credit is responsible for fostering and maintaining a collaborative relationship with internal and external partners to provide proactive support that increases student success, college aspirations, career planning, and access to dual credit opportunities, while removing barriers to access. The Director is the primary dual credit point of contact for administrators, counselors, and students at high schools served by KC.
 

Position responsibilities:
 

  • Oversees staffing, evaluating, budgeting, scheduling, and daily functioning of the division.
  • Provide leadership for employees by exhibiting exemplary work habits, fiscal responsibility and personal professional development.
  • Contribute to the development of institutional goals, policies and direction as related to dual credit.
  • Ensures compliance with regulations of the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, and other agencies as required.
  • Assist with the development of collaborative relationships with on-campus personnel, local schools, colleges/universities and community agencies and organizations
  • Manage and grow dual credit programs and course offerings for area high schools with an outcomes-based focus.
  • Work with instructional department chairs and deans to create pathways and schedules for dual credit courses.
  • Create, distribute and track MOUs between Kilgore College and area high schools.
  • Oversee the rootED Alliance grant
  • Draft, communicate and provide internal and external training on, and implement procedures for dual credit.
  • Explore and propose strategic opportunities for dual credit expansion and collaborate with Kilgore College divisions to provide appropriate course delivery for new and existing courses.
  • Collaborate with appropriate college departments and high school contacts to ensure appropriate submission of student information, roster verifications and other reports as required under HB 8.
  • Serve on KC committees and community organizations as needed. Represents Kilgore College through community involvement and activities.
  • Work occasional nights and weekends, as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
     

Minimum Position Requirements:
 

  • Bachelor’s degree minimum, but Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience collaborating with administration, faculty, staff and students in a secondary or post-secondary educational setting, as well as successful management and supervisory experience
  • Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Must have a broad understanding of Community College education.
  • Must be able to work with little supervision and to work professionally and courteously with a diverse student and employee population.
  • Must be organized and detail-oriented.
  • Must be able to apply diplomacy and professional judgement.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
 

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office or at area ISD’s
  • No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
     

Safety:
 

  • Provide resources for safe operation of units. Create and support workplace safety.

  • Compensation for this 12-month position is $82,789.
