Job Description Summary

The Director, Digital Strategy & PMO serves as a key partner to the VP Digital, Data & AI Lead, driving strategic planning, portfolio governance, organizational effectiveness, and cross-functional execution across Japan & South Korea, reporting to the VP.

This role ensures Global priorities are translated into actionable regional plans, balancing with OU Business Priorities, organizational commitments are effectively managed, and enterprise initiatives are delivered through strong governance, stakeholder management, and business management practices. The position acts as a central coordination point across Digital, Business, and Global teams, enabling alignment, accountability, and execution of strategic priorities. Coordinates alignment and appropriate prioritization of OU priority digital initiatives with the global digital leadership team. Oversees project governance for both global rollouts and OU-specific digital projects in collaboration with Business Initiative Owners and Technical Project Managers.


Key Responsibilities;

Strategy & Planning

  • Translate Global Digital priorities into regional roadmaps and execution plans
  • Support strategic planning, prioritization, and tracking of key initiatives
  • Monitor progress against organizational goals and objectives
  • Support annual planning cycles and strategic business reviews

Portfolio Governance & PMO

  • Manage portfolio reviews, governance forums, executive reporting, and risk management activities based on global digital governance frameworks.
  • Establish and maintain operating rhythms, decision-making processes, and performance metrics
  • Track OKRs, KPIs, dependencies, and organizational commitments
  • Provide leadership visibility into progress, risks, dependencies, and business outcomes
  • Apply Agile project management by acting as Scrum Master where possible.

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Coordinate initiatives requiring alignment across Digital, Marketing Commercial, Finance, HR, Global Security, Legal, and Global Digital Council office and digital teams.
  • Drive accountability and follow-up on strategic priorities and business commitments
  • Manage escalations, risks, and cross-functional dependencies
  • Ensure Global and enterprise-wide initiatives are effectively executed across the organization

Business Management & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Coordinate leadership-driven initiatives across the Digital organization
  • Support execution of organization-wide priorities and leadership objectives
  • Ensure follow-up and accountability for key decisions, actions, and commitments
  • Lead special projects and initiatives requiring cross-functional ownership and coordination
  • Support stakeholder engagement, organizational communication, and change adoption activities
  • Continuously improve governance processes, operating models, and ways of working

  • Reporting to the VP Digital, Data & AI Lead, as a key partner enabling effective execution of strategic priorities across the Digital organization.
  • Drives organizational alignment through portfolio governance, business planning, and performance management.

  • Ensures enterprise and Global initiatives are effectively implemented across Japan & South Korea.

Candidate Profile

An experienced PMO, program management, business operations, or strategy professional with a proven ability to drive cross-functional initiatives in a complex, global organization.

Recognized for building alignment across diverse stakeholders, managing competing priorities, and delivering outcomes through governance, influence, and structured execution rather than direct authority.

Combines strengths in strategic planning, portfolio management, executive communications, stakeholder engagement, and organizational effectiveness while maintaining a hands-on approach to execution.


Experience & Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in PMO, program management, business operations, portfolio governance, strategy execution, or related roles
  • Experience supporting senior leadership teams in complex matrix organizations
  • Proven experience managing cross-functional initiatives with multiple stakeholders
  • Strong background in governance, portfolio reporting, planning, and performance management
  • Experience defining and tracking OKRs, KPIs, and business performance metrics
  • Strong executive communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience partnering with Global, regional, and business leadership teams
  • Familiarity with Digital, Data, Technology, Product, or Transformation organizations
  • Experience coordinating organizational change, adoption, or enterprise-wide initiatives
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Power BI, project and portfolio management tools
  • Business-level Japanese and English are required
