As Director of Design Strategy & Innovation, you set the vision for how customers experience Floor & Decor—both digitally and in-store. You turn insights into strategies that differentiate our brand, inspire loyalty, and drive business growth. By leading innovation across design services, technology, and customer experiences, you shape what the future of home improvement looks like—creating experiences that resonate, delight, and drive real impact every day.
Your Day Consists Of
- Defining and executing the company’s design strategy to align with business goals and customer insights.
- Identifying emerging design trends, technologies, and platforms to maintain industry leadership.
- Leading cross-functional initiatives to develop new concepts, tools, and customer experiences.
- Overseeing the scalability, consistency, and execution of design strategies across all markets and channels.
- Building, mentoring, and empowering a high-performing team of strategists, innovators, and program managers.
- Tracking KPIs, measuring ROI, and reporting on the success of design strategies and innovation initiatives.

You’ll Be Successful With
- 10+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, customer experience, or innovation leadership; retail or consumer goods experience strongly preferred
- Proven track record leading large-scale, cross-functional initiatives in complex organizations
- Strong understanding of customer experience, digital platforms, and emerging design technologies
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and collaboration skills
- Experience managing creative or strategy-focused teams in fast-paced, growth-oriented environments
- Strategic thinker with the ability to translate insights into actionable, measurable solutions
Work Environment / Physical Expectations
- Primarily a sedentary role with extended periods of sitting, though occasional walking, standing, or light physical activity (lifting up to 20 lbs) may be needed.
- Work is typically performed in a quiet to moderate office setting, with occasional exposure to active warehouse environments and moving equipment.
