Job Summary:   

The Director of Demand Generation will lead Semtech’s B2B demand generation function, overseeing a team of 6–8 marketers across ABM, channel marketing, digital and outbound marketing, and web experience. This role is responsible for developing and executing an integrated demand generation strategy that drives qualified pipeline and supports Semtech’s revenue objectives across Tier 1, Tier 2, and mass market segments. The ideal candidate is an experienced people leader with a strong track record of developing early-career and mid-level marketers, building high-performing teams, and executing data-driven marketing programs in the B2B technology space.

Responsibilities:

Team Management

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 6–8 marketers across ABM, channel marketing, digital and outbound marketing, and web experience, with varying levels of experience from early-career to mid-level professionals
  • Foster a culture of innovation, data-driven decision-making, and continuous improvement across the team
  • Conduct performance reviews and professional development planning for team members
  • Coach the Web Manager toward expanded ownership and eventual people leadership of the web experience function
  • Recruit and develop top marketing talent across demand generation functions
  • Partner with HR on performance management, compensation discussions, and organizational development

Strategic Leadership

  • Develop and execute an integrated demand generation strategy aligned with Semtech’s three-year marketing plan and commercial objectives across Tier 1, Tier 2, and mass market segments
  • Establish clear KPIs and attribution models for demand generation activities, building toward full-funnel measurement and marketing ROI reporting
  • Manage the demand generation budget, ensuring optimal resource allocation across programs, channels, and agency relationships
  • Collaborate closely with the VP of Corporate Marketing & Communications, sales leadership, and the brand and communications team to align programs with business priorities
  • Oversee the digital agency relationship, ensuring strong performance against program goals

Marketing Execution

  • Oversee multi-channel marketing programs across ABM, channel marketing, digital and outbound marketing, and web experience
  • Guide the team in designing and optimizing ABM programs targeting Tier 1 enterprise accounts and Tier 2 segment campaigns
  • Ensure seamless integration of the marketing technology stack, including marketing automation, CRM, and web platforms
  • Drive vertical market campaign execution across high-priority industries, in partnership with the brand team
  • Oversee the web experience function to ensure Semtech’s digital properties support segment-specific buyer journeys and ABM-capable experiences

Analytics and Optimization

  • Establish and maintain baseline performance metrics across all demand generation functions
  • Implement tracking and attribution infrastructure to connect marketing activities to pipeline and revenue outcomes
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and use data to drive program optimization and resource decisions
  • Build toward predictive analytics capabilities in alignment with the three-year marketing plan roadmap

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of progressive marketing experience in B2B technology companies, including 4+ years in a people management role
  • Demonstrated success developing and mentoring marketing teams, including early-career professionals
  • Proven track record of building and executing demand generation programs that drive measurable pipeline contribution
  • Experience managing across multiple marketing disciplines, including ABM, digital marketing, channel marketing, and web
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to establish measurement frameworks and translate data into actionable decisions

Desired Qualifications

  • Advanced degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or related field
  • Experience in marketing automation platforms (Marketo, Hubspot, Eloqua) and CRM systems (Salesforce)
  • Hands-on experience with ABM platforms; familiarity with Propensity and Pathfactory preferred
  • Experience in semiconductor, enterprise technology, or related high-tech industries
  • Strong executive communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Experience managing digital agency relationships and co-marketing programs

A reasonable estimate of the pay range for this position is CAD $135k - 190k.  There are several factors taken into consideration in determining base salary, including but not limited to: job-related qualifications, skills, education and experience, as well as job location and the value of other elements of an employee’s total compensation package.
