What You'll Do:

Blackpoint Cyber is seeking a strategic and visionary Director of Platform Engineering to lead the development and execution of our new Unified Security Posture data platform—powering our data-centric cybersecurity solutions.

You will be the single-threaded owner responsible for planning, directing, and overseeing the roadmap and operations of our cloud-based platform. This includes vendor integrations, developer and data tools, identity, authentication, tenant management, and other core services.

You will drive the vision and execution across multiple engineering teams, collaborating cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and product leaders. You’ll translate internal and external needs into clear strategies, organize your team’s roadmap and daily work, monitor service quality, and hire and grow a high-performing team.

As a highly visible leader, you'll work closely with the Product and SRE teams to ensure platform security, reliability, and scalability. You'll develop company-wide practices for instrumentation, incident response, root cause analysis, and remediation - ensuring operational excellence. This role requires deep engineering experience and a track record of building and scaling production systems. You’ll provide mentorship, technical leadership, and structure to help your team thrive.

Responsibilities:

• Define and drive the platform roadmap aligned with product and business goals.

• Partner across the Product org and SRE team to ensure platform security, reliability, and scalability.

• Lead the development of the data pipeline, integrating with Blackpoint’s endpoint agent and vendor data, including storage, tiered access, and query capabilities.

• Deliver platform services and public APIs supporting core functions like tenant management, identity, and RBAC.

• Lead platform tooling and APIs to accelerate AI/ML and BI initiatives.

• Oversee developer productivity tooling, including CI/CD systems.

• Define the long-term vision for the data platform, implementing best practices in data architecture, modeling, and governance. Stay current on emerging technologies and trends.

• Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and partners.

• Foster excellence in platform reliability, scalability, security, and software quality.

• Hire and grow a high-caliber team of platform and data engineers; scale the team and org structure as needed.

Requirements:

• 10+ years in software development, preferably in cybersecurity and with at least 5 years in people management and leading multiple teams.

• Proven experience leading a Platform Engineering function at the Director level.

• 5+ years working with large-scale AWS cloud solutions and technologies such as Postgres, Elastic, Redis, streaming data, and ETL.

• Hands-on experience architecting and building complex data platforms and service integrations.

• Deep knowledge of CI/CD, production deployment at scale, and data pipeline orchestration.

• Demonstrated ability to drive high-impact initiatives and long-term strategic goals.

• Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
