ABOUT BEZOS ACADEMY

At Bezos Academy, we believe all children deserve the great start that excellent early education provides, including in under-resourced communities. Our mission is to nurture the potential in every child to become a creative leader, original thinker, and lifelong learner by inventing the solutions needed to scale early childhood education. We are a unique organization that realizes our mission in two distinct ways. First, we operate a multi-state network of schools in under-resourced communities, offering quality Montessori preschool at no cost to families. Second, we invest in creating tools, products, technology, and other solutions designed to reach children well beyond the walls of our schools. We aspire to have a profound, large-scale impact on children ages zero to five.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As the Director, Data Engineering & Analytics at Bezos Academy, your work will directly shape how we understand our impact on the children and families we serve across our multi-state network of schools. Reporting to the Chief Technology Officer and serving as a member of the Technology leadership team, you will evolve the data foundation that connects our many systems and unlock AI-powered self-service reporting and insights for staff and leadership.

This is a player-coach role. You are a seasoned engineering leader who enjoys being hands-on, energized by both managing high-performing people and solving hard technical problems yourself. In a lean environment, you will lead a small, talented team of data engineers, an analytics engineer, and a data analyst — owning architecture, moving fast, and making pragmatic calls. You will empower your team to do their best work, and partner closely with software engineering and product teams across the organization.
