Director Data and AI (m/f/d)

As Director Data & AI at FREENOW, we’re looking for someone who will lead and manage our organization’s data operations, ensuring that data is effectively used to support our business strategies and decision-making. This role is crucial because it involves overseeing our data infrastructure, establishing robust data governance practices, and developing a comprehensive data strategy. Beyond that, a core part of your responsibility will be to foster a truly data-driven culture across the entire organization and, critically, to lead the development of FREENOW's overarching AI strategy.

Ultimately, your aim will be to maximize the value of our data assets, drive innovation through advanced analytics and AI, and ensure data integrity, quality, and security. This role is essential in transforming our data into a strategic asset that truly enhances our business performance and competitive advantage.

• Lead and mentor a team of data professionals, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement. As a leader, you truly believe in empowering our people and creating an environment where they feel safe to innovate and even make mistakes, as that's how we learn and grow.
• Develop and execute a comprehensive data and AI strategy aligned with company goals; prioritize initiatives for maximum business value.
• Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable data infrastructure.
• Drive advanced analytics and AI initiatives to support data-driven decision-making and insights across the company. This means not just identifying opportunities, but actively guiding their implementation.
• Implement and enforce robust policies for data quality, integrity, security, and compliance.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, product, marketing, and finance, to deliver impactful data and AI solutions and ensure strategic alignment.
• Stay current on the latest data and AI trends, continuously exploring and implementing new technologies and methodologies to drive innovation. We want to be at the forefront of what's possible.
• Track key performance indicators (KPIs), and provide regular updates to senior management on the progress of data and AI projects.

• You'll need a deep understanding of data architecture, warehousing, integration, and governance principles.
• Expertise in advanced analytics, machine learning, AI, statistical analysis, and data modeling is key. This is where your AI leadership really shines.
• Proficiency with data management tools (SQL, NoSQL) and analytics platforms (Tableau, Power BI).
• Familiarity with programming languages (Python, R) and data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA).
• You should have a proven track record in leading and mentoring high-performing data teams. 
• The ability to align data and AI strategies with broader business goals and effectively prioritize initiatives is crucial.
• Expertise in data engineering, analytics, science, and infrastructure design and maintenance.
• Strong skills in conveying complex data and AI concepts to non-technical stakeholders and providing effective reporting.
• Proven ability to work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the organization.
• Strong analytical skills to identify and resolve complex data-related challenges.
