Position Description:

Analyzes systems and data to provide meaningful insights on business performance. Collaborates with field leaders and headquarter peers to move multiple high priority projects forward. Collaborates with data and reporting teams to represent needs on projects ranging from business performance monitoring, big data use cases, compensation, scorecards, and ad hoc analytics, using SQL, R, Alteryx, Snowflake, AtScale, Tableau, and D3. Communicates data-derived insights to influence business actions and strategy, including predictive analytics.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Identifies, develops, and captures new metrics that provide insight into the customer, associate, and operational experiences.
  • Manages data migration efforts to optimize data and expand reach to new clients.
  • Supports ad-hoc systems analysis of core processes to provide insights on areas of improvement, process efficiencies, and cost reduction.
  • Tests different approaches and tools to uncover insights.
  • Develops, maintains, and promotes data architecture.
  • Supports Scrum projects to provide data and measurement for use cases and realized results.
  • Introduces benchmarked quality metrics and implements defined delivery plans.
  • Coaches junior team members on data acumen and tool skills to share and reinforce data best practices.
  • Translates complex data analysis into succinct explanations of results, outputs, and next best actions to improve results and presents findings and visualizations to business stakeholders.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and six (6) years of experience as a Director, Data Analytics and Insights (or closely related occupation) performing data modeling, data analysis, and data transformation within a financial services environment.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Computer Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and four (4) years of experience as a Director, Data Analytics and Insights (or closely related occupation) performing data modeling, data analysis, and data transformation within a financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) designing and developing extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, using Informatica and Oracle PL/SQL, or Alteryx.
  • DE designing and developing data warehouses and data modeling using Oracle PL/SQL, IBM Netezza SQL, and Snowflake in a financial services environment.
  • DE project managing data analysis and reporting projects using Agile tools and methodologies, including Scrum, Kanban and JIRA in a financial services environment.
  • DE administering and coordinating Business Intelligence (BI) and Analytic (SAP Business Objects, Tableau, Microsoft Power BI, Alteryx, and IBM SPSS) and data governance and lineage tools (Collibra and Manta); performing security implementation using BI access roles, groups, and permissions; performing performance tuning for long running SQL queries, BI reports, and data extracts using SQL analyzer; and optimizing configurations for BI servers, components, and processes.
