Role and Responsibilities

The Director of CI Sales will lead a 6-member direct report team to expand HE (Home Entertainment) sales volume while minimizing spending with the CI (Custom Integrator) and Independent Indirect Dealer base, supported by Rep Firm teams. The primary goal is to maximize revenue attainment of Samsung TV and AV products through assigned and new CI and retail dealers buying through distribution across the USA. This role reports to the Executive Director/VP of Sales and includes a mentor role for Sales Managers on the team.

The Director will drive sales initiatives for consumer (HE) and commercial (CD) product lines within the CI channel. As the CI Dealer channel leader, they will oversee all CI and Retail Indirect dealers and Rep Firm partners, analyze data reporting, and ensure accountability to management. Key responsibilities include business planning, creating and implementing sell-in/sell-through activities, developing sales growth strategies, executing sales promotional planning, and frequent business updating and reporting. The role also involves sales and marketing program development, execution, and audit.

The Director will support the Executive Director/VP of Sales as the key CI-Retail account lead, working with Tier 1 and 2 Distribution teams and managing business plan performance.

 Position Objective

  • Manage and develop a 6-person sales team, 16 Rep Firms, and Ops team support.
  • Sell CD and HE products to assigned CI and Independent Indirect Retail dealers in the US.
  • Achieve weekly/monthly/annual sales plan targets.
  • Implement overall segment strategy; execute Samsung brand initiatives and support all sales and marketing objectives.
  • Maintain daily contact with CI Channel sales teams and Rep Firms across all regions of the portfolio.
  • Manage current customer relationships while developing new opportunities.
  • Create and execute sell-in and sell-through sales activities.
  • Conduct continuous business planning and forecasting for assigned distributors.
  • Administer sales orders, program execution, validation, and channel communication.
  • Organize reporting for management review.
  • Travel monthly to support CI and Independent Indirect Sales Channels in the US.
  • Supervise the creation of executive summaries/QBR meetings for each Rep Firm in the territory.
  • Resolve dealer and consumer issues creatively within budgetary and policy guidelines.
  • Provide monthly and rolling detailed segment analytics (TAM, sales results).
  • Manage all 5 buying groups (Nationwide/ProSource/Azione/HTSA/Oasys) as the key daily point of contact for Samsung HE and CD Divisions, supporting the Executive Director in creating programs to achieve greater than 50% share of their business in TV.
  • Manage, support, and attend distributor, buying group, and industry events.

Skills and Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • College degree preferred.
  • 5+ years supervising or leading a team of remote salespeople within the Consumer Electronics industry.
  • 10+ years of CI Channel Manufacturer Sales experience.
  • 10+ years of CE or IT account management experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in CE (Consumer Electronics) Distribution.
  • Excellent communication skills with all levels of an organization, both internally and externally.
  • Experience with large partners/portfolios exceeding $50M.
  • Ability to travel within the US up to 50% of the time.
  • Outstanding presentation and sales skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

The ideal candidate should have relevant experience in consumer and/or commercial AV products, AV dealer and distribution channels, and strategic sales collaboration within a distribution-fed sales organization. Experience with an established CE/IT brand, understanding of AV solution sales channels, and two-step go-to-market strategies is essential.

Candidates must demonstrate excellent interpersonal and client management skills, proficiency in business management systems, and MS Office products (Excel, PowerPoint, Word). The role may require flexible working hours and up to 40%+ travel for customer visits, events, and industry trade shows.

Necessary Skills:

  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize business plans and programs to achieve sales performance objectives within established time frames.
  • Professional sales and business presentation skills in writing, email, reports, or oral presentations for audiences of all sizes.
  • Established experience in sales management of CE/IT brands and markets, dealer and/or distribution channels, and AV solution sales.
  • Strong data analytics, organizational skills, decision-making abilities, and timely follow-up.

FULLY REMOTE – CAN BE PERFORMED ANYWHERE

The salary range for this role will vary among specific regions due to geographic differentials in the labor market, and actual pay will be determined considering factors such as relevant skills and experience, and comparison to other employees in the role.  However, the salary ranges in the following regions are expected to be as follows:

  • Colorado: $180,000 to $200,000
  • NYC: $220,000 to $240,000
  • Washington State: $200,000 to $220,000
  • California: $220,000 to $240,000
