The Director, Corporate Strategy Supply Chain partners with the Cooperative’s most senior leaders to shape enterprise and business-unit strategy, solve critical strategic problems, and translate market insight into executable growth, performance, and transformation priorities. Reporting to the Chief Strategy Officer, this role brings an operationally grounded perspective across manufacturing, end-to-end supply chain and logistics, wholesale and retail distribution, consumer products, channel performance, and digital enablement to deliver measurable enterprise outcomes.
This role is based at our Arden Hills, Minnesota Corporate Headquarters, with in-office presence Tuesday through Thursday each week.
Why This Role Matters
This position helps connect enterprise ambition with operational reality. You will work alongside senior leaders to clarify complex choices, strengthen the Cooperative’s ability to anticipate change, and build practical paths from insight to action. The role offers broad exposure across businesses and functions, with the opportunity to influence decisions that shape growth, customer value, operational performance, and long-term resilience.
What You Will Do
In this highly visible enterprise role, you will connect strategy with execution across operationally intensive businesses. Key responsibilities include:
- Advance supply chain and operating strategy: Apply an end-to-end perspective across manufacturing, supply chain planning, logistics, demand-supply integration, wholesale and retail distribution, and consumer products. Evaluate operating-model, network, sourcing, inventory, capacity, and business-model opportunities that improve service, resilience, cost, margin, and performance.
- Translate market insight into growth choices: Partner with Economic Research and business teams to evaluate industry trends, competitors, customers, commodity impacts, channel performance, and wholesale, retail, and consumer-market dynamics. Convert insights into actionable growth, partnership, investment, and business-development recommendations.
- Enable digital transformation: Shape digital and business-transformation priorities using data, technology, automation, and modern tools to strengthen decisions, customer experience, and business performance. Translate strategy into roadmaps, governance, change plans, milestones, and measurable outcomes.
- Drive performance and manage strategic risk: Establish KPIs and performance-management routines, monitor strategic initiatives, and recommend corrective action when needed. Lead scenario planning, stress testing, and strategic risk assessments to strengthen enterprise resilience and implementation readiness.
- Shape enterprise strategy and direction: Lead the development, implementation, and ongoing refinement of corporate and business-unit strategies. Advise senior leaders on enterprise priorities, growth platforms, portfolio choices, and long-range direction, turning ambiguous business questions into clear options and practical recommendations.
- Lead critical strategic initiatives: Guide high-priority work from opportunity assessment and business-case development through executive alignment, governance, and implementation planning. Create clarity around objectives, decisions, ownership, milestones, and measures of success.
- Build alignment and influence: Lead cross-functional teams through complex execution, facilitate strategic discussions, and align stakeholders across business units and functions. Develop executive- and board-ready materials and represent the organization with relevant external stakeholders.
