Sales Director plays a critical role in driving revenue growth, supporting customer relationships, and maximizing the effectiveness and efficiency with which the sales team will function.
The Impact You Will Make:

  • Will be responsible for building the sales strategy and the team to support this plan
  • Ideating and implementing effective sales strategies to meet revenue targets, including setting sales goals, forecasting sales projections with Finance and Rev Ops, and developing plans to achieve them
  • Cultivating and establishing strong relationships with key Corporate Accounts prospective clients. Ensure that customer needs are understood and addressed effectively, and that customer satisfaction is maintained at high levels.
  • Building relationships and selling consultatively to drive buying decisions of VP, Director, and C-Level executives at national enterprise companies
  • Successfully importing your knowledge and experience, including knowledge of the market and personal network to develop and execute an effective long-term sales strategy and plan in the market
  • Building a team compensation structure that drives productivity, loyalty, and sound economics
  • Strategically prospecting by working with your team to develop a plan that ensures prospects at key companies know your name and how you can help them
  • Managing pipeline and sales activity with an ability to accurately forecast and anticipate future performance, with an eye for filling shortfalls and amplifying successes
  • Fostering a learning culture, focused on high-performance, agility, and creativity within the team
  • Recruiting, leading, coaching, and mentoring high achieving A-Players to peak performance, setting KPIs and other performance metrics, conducting formal and informal performance evaluations, and providing ongoing coaching and support.
  • Creating an optimized team structure by identifying top talent, and putting them in positions where they can be most effective
  • Working closely with cross-functional departments such as marketing, product development, and finance to align sales efforts with overall business objectives.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement within the sales team, encouraging innovation, learning, and adaptation to changing market conditions. Implement best practices and processes to optimize sales effectiveness and efficiency.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • 10+ years of sales management experience with leadership responsibilities and 5+ years managing managers
  • Must be focused and organized and have excellent communication, organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Must be a highly intelligent, driven individual with an extraordinary amount of professionalism and common sense.
  • Must be comfortable giving and receiving criticism, asking a lot of questions, and taking ownership.
  • Must be extremely responsible, have an open and engaging personality, and a quick mind.
  • Strong leader with a track record of driving results and developing his/her team.


We reward our Sales positions with competitive pay. For this role, we offer uncapped commission with a base salary range as outlined below, based on factors including geographic location.
New York: $193,000 - 289,000 base salary range ($275,000 - $413,000 OTE range)
Grubhub uses geographic-specific salary structures, which means the salary offered may vary depending on where the job is located. The final salary offer will take into account various factors, such as the candidate's skills, education, training, credentials, and experience. In addition to the base salary, the role might also come with equity and other pay incentives as part of the full compensation package.
