The Director Corporate Communications oversees corporate communications for the Gardena Division within the publicly traded international Husqvarna Group and serves as the organization’s strategic voice to all key stakeholder groups. It oversees internal and external communications worldwide, acts as the primary spokesperson, and shapes the division’s narrative through media relations, executive communications, and public affairs engagement.
Reporting directly to the Senior Vice President Division Office, the role provides strategic counsel, drives cross-functional communication projects, and strengthens the division’s visibility in global markets. It plays a central role in supporting transformation and change initiatives, working closely with group-level Corporate Communications and Investor Relations.
This role will be based in Ulm, Germany.
More specifically, key focus areas of the role include:
Your Responsibilities:
Responsibility for internal and external corporate communications for the Gardena Division worldwide, as well as for location-specific communications for all divisions in Germany
Serving as a press spokesperson, including media relations, responding to press inquiries, and actively shaping the narrative on relevant topics
Developing, planning, and implementing communication content in text, photos, and video—from topic research and editorial preparation to publication
Establishing and maintaining public affairs representation with stakeholders at the federal, state, and association levels
Ghostwriting for the President and other executives of the Gardena Division, including speeches, technical articles, and presentations
Management, further development, and editorial oversight of the intranet, as well as the publication of the printed employee magazine
Communication support for change management processes and transformation projects
Close collaboration with Corporate Communications and Investor Relations at the Group headquarters in Stockholm
Peer coaching on modern collaboration tools, particularly Microsoft Teams and SharePoint
Leading and participating in cross-functional projects, e.g., the successful migration of the career website to a new platform
Planning, organizing, and managing communication events such as press conferences, top-management meetings, and internal events
Your Profile:
A bachelor’s or master’s degree in communication studies, journalism, political science, public relations, or a related field
Several years of professional experience in corporate communications, ideally at a publicly traded, internationally active corporation
Proven expertise as a spokesperson, as well as in the development, planning, and implementation of external and internal communication initiatives involving text, images, and video
Excellent editorial skills, including topic research, storytelling, and ghostwriting for top management
Experience in public affairs and in building and maintaining political networks
In-depth knowledge of change communication and supporting transformation processes
Proficiency in managing and developing digital communication platforms, particularly intranet solutions (e.g., SharePoint), as well as experience in publishing internal communications
Demonstrable project management skills in complex communication and digitalization projects
Experience in planning and executing communication events
Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills, as well as the ability to interact confidently at all organizational levels
High digital literacy and a willingness to serve as a peer coach for modern collaboration tools
Excellent written and spoken German and English skills
