The Director of Corporate Communications provides strategic direction for LHG’s global public relations and media relations activities, engaging the executive committee and regional PR teams to raise brand awareness, strengthen corporate profiling and maximise publicity opportunities across relevant media channels.

The role leads corporate and regional PR planning across all LHG brands, ensuring communications strategies support the Group’s sales and marketing objectives, annual publicity goals, hotel initiatives, product and design stories, brand partnerships, marketing campaigns and development activities.

This position requires an experienced communications leader with strong international media relationships, crisis communications expertise, strategic thinking and the ability to guide hotel, regional, agency and corporate stakeholders in a fast-paced, multi-brand hospitality environment.


Key Responsibilities:

PR and Media Relations

  • Provide strategic direction and organise press activities that engage the LHG executive committee to promote and position the brand, raise awareness and support key company initiatives through relevant media channels.
  • Drive PR strategies to maximise publicity opportunities for all LHG brands.
  • Define tactical PR strategies within the context of the Group’s sales and marketing objectives and annual PR goals, including publicity related to hotels, products, design, brand partnerships, marketing campaigns and development activities.
  • Lead LHG and regional PR teams to maintain comprehensive PR databases, organise press promotional activities and press trips, and produce and distribute corporate press releases for key announcements and brand initiatives.
  • Coordinate hotel PR teams to maximise publicity opportunities for regional and global campaigns across different countries.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key trade and industry journalists, editors, and influencers across priority markets.
  • Develop and pitch stories to targeted media, maintaining a strong pipeline of interview opportunities for senior LHG executives.
  • Initiate and execute PR ideas that increase brand awareness among target media.
  • Drive, track, and report achievement of corporate and hotel PR KPIs.

Publicity KPIs and Budget Management

  • Develop and manage the PR expenses budget.
  • Drive and measure LHG and hotel PR performance against set publicity goals and stipulated KPIs.
  • Ensure press coverage aligns with strategic direction and delivers strong worldwide exposure for LHG, global hotels, local initiatives and brand stories.

Crisis Management

  • Drive crisis communications strategy and provide PR counsel to management during times of crisis.
  • Manage ongoing media listening and responses in partnership with the social media team and corporate quality team.
  • Own and maintain the Crisis Communications Playbook.
  • Schedule and manage annual crisis communications training for senior executives at the corporate office and hotels around the world.

Corporate Profiling

  • Develop media statements and positioning for key issues to strengthen brand image and corporate profiling.
  • Lead and support announcements for new hotel openings, management contract signings and strategic partnerships.
  • Identify PR opportunities to position Langham Hospitality Group as a thought leader and force for good, demonstrating the Group’s positive community and environmental impact through CSR initiatives.

 Content Creation and Management

  • Develop content such as advertorials, press releases, speeches, presentations, scripts, talking points, opinion pieces, executive messaging, thought leadership materials, media statements, internal memos, award entries, social media posts, video scripts, and internal communications content.
  • Translate content between English, Traditional Chinese and Simplified Chinese.
  • Oversee content development vendors
  • Source, commission, and manage external content contributors (e.g., agencies, writers, video production teams) to ensure timely, high-quality deliverables.
  • Serve as editorial lead to oversee contributor output, maintaining consistency in tone, messaging, and factual integrity.
  • Develop and manage a centralised content hub for evergreen assets for global use and adaptation.
  • Maintain and update a comprehensive editorial calendar.
  • Participate in strategic planning and creative ideation sessions to drive content alignment with Groupwide initiatives.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, social media, creative, brand marketing and digital teams to ensure seamless execution of initiatives and maximise reach and impact.

 Digital and Owned Channels Management

  • Communicate timely corporate communications updates with the website team
  • Manage the Group’s LinkedIn account, curating content to strengthen corporate reputation and amplify leadership visibility.
  • Support selected senior leaders in managing their LinkedIn accounts to enhance visibility and elevate the Group’s brand presence.

Internal Communications

  • Support leadership communications by preparing key messages and talking points for senior executives at internal events such as CEO Dialogue, town hall meetings or property visits.
  • Translate business updates and complex information into clear, engaging and brand-aligned communications across functions, markets and properties.
  • Coordinate internal communication plans and toolkits for Group-wide initiatives, hotel openings, brand programmes and other significant business milestones.
  • Partner with People & Culture to communicate the Group’s employee value proposition, culture and colleague experience across offices, regions and hotels.  Review and edit employer-brand content across internal and social channels, promoting the Group’s culture, values, career opportunities and colleague stories.

Reporting

  • Performance Data Gathering, Analysis, and Reporting
  • Engage with local, regional, and global teams to gather hotel media/KOL performance data.
  • Track Group media coverage, particularly for the Asia Pacific region. 
  • Analyse performance data to identify trends, shortfalls, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop performance reports, including quarterly reports for owners, monthly reports, ad hoc reports, and presentations to stakeholders.
  • Review news monitoring portals daily and highlight significant clippings.
  • Monitor content effectiveness using relevant metrics and provide regular performance 

Management of Langham Press Trips

  • Lead regional teams and hosting hotels in organising bespoke brand press trips and recruiting media that are on-target for the brand and selected hotels.
  • Ensure each trip reflects appropriate branding, budget discipline, and a distinctive itinerary.
  • Track resulting media coverage and report outcomes.

Support Hotel Pre-Openings

  • Develop and drive pre-opening PR strategies for new hotels in partnership with hotel teams, agencies, and the broader LHG Sales & Marketing team.
  • Provide support across media channels, monitor media coverage, and distribute relevant updates to external and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or a relevant discipline.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in a public relations or communications role for a global brand or agency, with a strategic vision for maximising business results.
  • Experience leading and managing corporate and regional teams, hotel marketing/communications departments, and PR agencies.
  • Strong connections with international business, travel and lifestyle media.
  • Well-developed leadership, relationship management, strategic thinking, problem-solving and organisational skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, assess and prioritise incoming assignments, manage competing deadlines, and work non-traditional hours as needed.
  • Strong track record of successfully developing and implementing public relations programmes while working with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Excellent written and spoken English and Chinese communication skills
  • Highly motivated and energised, with a strong understanding of the hospitality industry, creative ideas and analytical skills.

Skills Required
