The Opportunity (Job Purpose):

What You’ll Do Day-to-Day (Essential Duties & Responsibilities):

  • Develop and implement comprehensive credit risk management policies and procedures.
  • Evaluate and approve credit proposals, ensuring that they meet the company’s risk appetite and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor the credit quality of the corporate loan portfolio, identifying potential risks and recommending mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct regular reviews of credit policies and adjust them as necessary to reflect changes in market conditions and regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and ethical behavior within the credit team by leading, mentoring, and developing a team of credit analysts and managers, providing guidance and ensuring a high level of competence and performance.
  • Make credit decisions and recommendations based on thorough analysis and understanding of the client’s financial condition, industry trends, and economic outlook.
  • Ensure that credit facilities are appropriately structured and documented.
  • Monitor and manage the overall quality of the corporate credit portfolio, including tracking key credit metrics and trends.
  • Proactively identify potential problem loans and work with relationship managers to develop action plans for resolution.
  • Work closely with bank funding sources and maintain solid relationships to ensure there is always adequate funding lines to support the financial needs of the organization.
  • Collaborate with legal, compliance, and audit departments to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Engage with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.
  • Collaborate closely with team members and leadership to continuously cultivate positive experiences for our customers.
  • Perform other dynamic duties and responsibilities as assigned to support business 

What We’re Looking For (Qualifications & Skills):

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting and 10 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of credit analysis, financial statement analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Experience in managing large and complex corporate credit portfolios.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Mindset: A curious mindset with an entrepreneurial "pioneering spirit," strong integrity, and a passion for continuous professional development.
