The Director, Communications, Liquids Pipelines, is a senior leadership role within Enbridge’s Communications, Reputation & Marketing (CRM) team within Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability (PACS). This position serves as the primary strategic communications partner to the Liquids Pipelines (LP) business unit, translating complex business priorities into integrated, high‑impact internal and external communications strategies.

As a trusted advisor to executive leaders, you will lead a high‑performing team and work closely with the business unit and enterprise team to strengthen reputation, manage risk, and deliver communications that support safe, reliable operations and long‑term growth across one of Enbridge’s most critical businesses.

What You Will Do

Strategic Leadership & Advisory

  • Serve as a trusted senior communications advisor and coach to LP executive and senior leaders

  • Develop and implement strategic communications plans aligned to LP business objectives and enterprise priorities

  • Anticipate stakeholder impacts, reputational risks, and emerging issues, providing clear, strategic communications counsel

Team Leadership

  • Lead, develop, and mentor a business-unit focused team, and work collaboratively with CRM centres of excellence

  • Set clear objectives, ensure quality and consistency across deliverables, and foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement

Communications Program Delivery

  • Lead integrated communications programs supporting LP operations, growth projects, and business development, including:

  • Executive communications – positioning the LP President and Executive Management Team as thought leaders through conferences, media engagements, and public forums

  • Issues management – proactively managing reputational risk and serving as a senior leader on Enbridge’s Crisis Communications Response Team

  • Media relations – guiding proactive and reactive media strategies in alignment with enterprise media Center of Excellence

  • Digital communications – shaping LP digital and social media strategies in partnership with enterprise digital center of excellence

  • Employee communications – delivering cohesive internal communications, including town halls, leadership messages, videos, and engagement initiatives in partnership with employee communications center of excellence

Who You Are
  • University degree in Communications, Journalism, Political Science, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience

  • 15+ years of progressive experience in communications, public affairs, or reputation management

  • Demonstrated experience advising senior executives in large, matrixed organizations

  • Deep expertise in issues management, and crisis communications

  • Strong business and financial competence, with the ability to assess risk and impact

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills across multiple channels

  • Demonstrated ability to influence, negotiate, and build trust with senior leaders and diverse stakeholders

  • Experience leading and developing high‑performing teams

  • Ability to navigate complexity, operate with autonomy, and maintain composure in high‑pressure situations

  • Knowledge of the energy sector, regulatory environments, and government relations in Canada and/or the U.S. is a strong asset

Working Conditions
  • Approximately 20% travel within Canada and the United States

  • Regular handling of confidential, strategic, and sensitive information

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect colour coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to work in tight spaces.

Mental Requirements (Both Field & Office) include but are not limited to:

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
