C.H. Robinson currently has an opportunity for a Director, Committed Assets to lead the strategy, execution, and performance of C.H. Robinson’s asset-based services—including Drop Trailer, Dedicated, Short Haul, and emerging solutions such as EV/AV and alternative fuels. In this role you will be responsible for driving growth, innovation, and operational excellence across the portfolio by shaping go-to-market strategies, designing scalable solutions, and forging strategic partnerships with customers and carriers. You will partner closely with revenue management, commercial, and capacity teams to optimize coverage and performance within the contractual truckload space, while championing strategic relationships across the carrier community to deliver reliable, asset-like execution.
Critical to your success will be collaboration with product, science, and analytics teams to shape the vision and roadmap for capability and technology development, ensuring strategies are realized through scalable, data-driven solutions.

Responsibilities:Strategic & Financial Management
- Develop and execute committed assets strategy, ensuring alignment with industry trends and competitive positioning
- Drive business objectives, efficiency, and growth through organizational structure, resource, and headcount alignment
- Lead financial management of the portfolio, including P&L accountability, budgeting, revenue, and expense oversight
- Report and communicate financial results, performance metrics, and strategic adjustments to senior leadership and employees
Business Growth & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and leverage cross-functional relationships across NAST, Product, Tech, and Shared Services to enhance demand, supply, and process improvement
- Partner with Commercial, Capacity, and Operations leaders on implementation strategies for new and existing business
- Engage with carriers and customers at the executive level, shaping solutions that strengthen value propositions and connectivity
- Guide go-to-market strategy, sales enablement, branding, and education efforts to ensure relevance across freight cycles
Leadership & Talent Development
- Provide clear direction, set priorities, and ensure team alignment with strategic objectives
- Monitor performance, remove roadblocks, and foster agile, transparent ways of working
- Coach and mentor team members and emerging leaders through feedback, one-on-ones, and development planning
- Identify skill gaps, encourage continuous learning, and support career growth to build long-term capability
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Minimum 8 years of professional leadership experience in customer management and business development, preference to experience in transportation, 3PL or asset marketplace
- Minimum 4 years of direct people management experience
- Ability to travel up to 40%
- Master’s degree from an accredited college or university
- Skilled in revenue ownership and responsibility
- Strong empathy for customers and carriers and a passion for revenue growth
- Strong knowledge of the 3PL and asset marketplace
- Experience managing cross-functional projects
- Demonstrated negotiation, collaboration, and influencing skills
- Self-starter, able to think, plan, and act independently
- Natural in establishing and managing relationships, with varying levels of stakeholders

Compensation Range
$144,500.00 - $330,500.00The base pay range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum base pay for the position across all U.S. locations. Your individual base pay within this range is determined by work location, which takes into account geographic cost of labor, and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Compensation details listed in this posting reflect the base pay only and do not include additional variable compensation.
