Job Description:
The Director of Commercial Marketing plays a pivotal role in aligning marketing strategies with sales and execution – serving as the essential link between business priorities and revenue outcomes. This role is responsible to lead a team who will build and optimize channel-specific strategies, programs, campaigns, and enablement tools that acquire, grow and retain customers while strengthening Patterson’s position as the destination partner.
Partnerships with sales, category management, pricing, content and digital marketing teams will be imperative to design and deliver programs that are insight-driven, results-oriented, and aligned with Patterson’s overall growth strategy.
Strategic Channel & Program Leadership
Architect and execute multi-year channel marketing strategies and value-added programs (e.g., private label, equipment, field service) for key segments that align with corporate growth objectives and customer segmentation insights.
Campaign Development & Execution
Lead omnichannel marketing campaigns linked to commercial strategies across merchandise, software, and services, ensuring alignment between digital, content, and field teams to deliver tailored customer experiences.
Forecasting & Performance Analytics
Oversee enterprise-level forecasting models and governance frameworks to track channel performance, conversion, margin, and ROI using predictive analytics and market trends.
Sales Enablement & Field Support
Design enablement strategies and collaborate with Sales leadership to remove adoption barriers, accelerate deal velocity, and support field effectiveness.
Customer & Market Insights
Conduct market research, analyze internal and syndicated data, and monitor trends to inform strategy, identify opportunities, and guide product positioning.
Brand Awareness & Event Strategy
Drive brand visibility through press releases, promotional materials, and event tactics that generate leads and elevate Patterson’s presence at tradeshows and industry forums.
Budget & Financial Stewardship
Own the marketing P&L, prepare and manage commercial budgets, track expenditures, and initiate corrective actions to meet financial objectives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Serve as a strategic liaison across Marketing, Product, Pricing, Digital, and Operations teams to ensure cohesive go-to-market execution and customer-centric experiences.
Leadership & Innovation
Foster a high-performance culture, establish departmental KPIs, and embed test-and-learn methodologies to continuously optimize marketing impact and team productivity.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or related field; MBA preferred.
10+ years of experience in B2B marketing, product marketing, channel marketing, or commercial marketing —industry strongly preferred.

The potential compensation range for this role is below. The final offer amount could exceed this range, based on various factors such as candidate location (geographical labor market), experience, and skills.
