About Us:

At Valley Children’s, the Laboratory provides comprehensive clinical laboratory and anatomic pathology services for our extensive patient population.  We are vital members of the interdisciplinary teams that care for patients across the Valley Children’s Healthcare system.  Our work includes services for patients in emergency, inpatient, and outpatient settings. As a VCH laboratorian, you will work in a special environment serving patients of all ages from the smallest infants to adults. Our pediatric testing offers unique experiences that include a focus on using specimens efficiently.  Front line teams specialize in specimen collections, processing, histology, and support activities. Analytical teams staff a variety of sections that include core laboratory, microbiology, transfusion service, and point of care testing.

Job Summary:

Reporting to the Vice President, Medical Group and Ancillary Operations, this position is accountable for providing overall strategic and operational leadership to the Department of Laboratory Medicine, including the development of short term and long term strategies to achieve required regulatory and legal standards associated with these functional areas. This position is responsible for the ongoing assessment, development, implementation, analysis, and evaluation of programs and staff effectiveness within the area of accountability. The incumbent is accountable for assuring the effective and efficient interface of departments of responsibility with other organizational units and outside agencies and/or vendors. This role must work with the Medical Director of Laboratories to ensure quality services are provided that meet the needs of the Medical Staff and patients.

Qualifications:

Education

  • Bachelors Degree (required)
  • Masters Degree (preferred)

Work Experience

  • Minimum five (5) years Progressively responsible experience (required)
  • Minimum five (5) years Management experience (required)
  • Minimum ten (10) years (preferred)erence given to those who have demonstrated a mastery of the job content through success in this role in multiple organizations (preferred)

$87.95 - $110.79
