Director, Chief of Staff to General Counsel, Americas
Overview:
The Americas Law team is responsible for legal guidance to all customer-facing and market-supporting functions across the United States, Canada and LAC.
The Executive Vice President, General Counsel (GC) of the Americas is searching for a Director, Chief of Staff to partner with the Americas GC and the Americas Law leadership team. This strategic and visible role ensures efficient operations, drives alignment, and enables decision-making while liaising with internal and external stakeholders. As Chief of Staff, you will report directly to the Americas GC, a member of the Americas Leadership Team. You will be responsible for managing and coordinating operational and administrative activities and internal and external commitments for the Americas GC, and work alongside the Americas Law leadership team members and stakeholders to drive executive priorities and key projects and initiatives.
Role
• Act as a key point of contact between Americas GC and internal and external stakeholder groups.
• Create, plan and direct all operational processes and administrative initiatives that drive efficiencies for Americas Law leadership and their teams and stakeholders.
• Provide project management for key initiatives and special projects.
• Drive business reporting ensuring operational excellence, including coordinating updates into quarterly operating reports, Earnings, and other business updates; identify insights and make meaningful recommendations as needed.
• Develop executive presentations and briefings and assist in preparing for internal and external meetings and speaking engagements.
• Participate in planning and lead implementation of employee communication and engagement initiatives (e.g., Town Halls, leadership team meetings and offsites, community engagements).
• Track and manage budget, including supporting budget requests with Finance and conducting periodic review of team’s outside counsel and operational expenses
• Responsible for planning, developing, and executing Americas GC and related schedules, in coordination with Executive Assistant to the Americas GC.

• Problem solver—able to anticipate needs, identify issues early and proactively resolve directly or through prompt escalation.
• Flexible and creative, able to not only adapt but also excel under pressure and thrive in a constantly changing and challenging environment.

In line with Mastercard’s total compensation philosophy and assuming that the job will be performed in the US, the successful candidate will be offered a competitive base salary based on location, experience and other qualifications for the role and may be eligible for an annual bonus or commissions depending on the role. Mastercard benefits for full time (and certain part time) employees generally include: insurance (including medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, disability, life insurance), flexible spending account and health savings account, paid leaves (including 16 weeks new parent leave, up to 20 paid days bereavement leave), 10 annual paid sick days, 10 or more annual paid vacation days based on level, 5 personal days, 10 annual paid U.S. observed holidays, 401k with a best-in-class company match, deferred compensation for eligible roles, fitness reimbursement or on-site fitness facilities, eligibility for tuition reimbursement, gender-inclusive benefits and many more.
