Role Summary
The Director, Change Management & Communications leads RaceTrac’s enterprise change management and internal communications strategy, helping the organization successfully navigate growth, transformation, and business change. This role partners with executive leaders and teams across the business to drive organizational readiness, strengthen leadership communication, and ensure employees understand, adopt, and sustain key initiatives that support RaceTrac’s long-term success.
Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and lead RaceTrac’s enterprise change management strategy, governance framework, methodologies, standards, and tools.
  • Develop and execute enterprise internal communications strategies aligned with business priorities and organizational goals.
  • Lead change readiness assessments, stakeholder engagement plans, impact analyses, and adoption strategies for major initiatives.
  • Partner with executive leadership, HR, Operations, Project Management, Learning, and Communications teams to drive successful transformation efforts.
  • Create and maintain change management frameworks, playbooks, templates, and communication resources for leaders and project teams.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on change leadership, communication effectiveness, employee engagement, and organizational readiness.
  • Oversee integrated change, communication, training, and engagement plans that support enterprise initiatives from planning through implementation and sustainment.
  • Monitor adoption, engagement, and communication effectiveness while providing insights, recommendations, and executive reporting.
  • Build organizational capability through leadership coaching, workshops, training, and best practices that strengthen adaptability and resilience.

Responsibilities:

Enterprise Change Management Strategy & Governance 

  • Establish and lead the enterprise change management strategy, methodology, governance framework, standards, and tools. 
  • Develop organizational capabilities that enable effective and sustainable adoption of strategic, operational, workforce, and technology transformations. 
  • Integrate change practices into enterprise initiatives and project delivery methodologies. 
  • Create and maintain frameworks, templates, playbooks, and resources for leaders and project teams. 
  • Assess organizational change capacity and improve enterprise readiness and adaptability. 

Enterprise Communications Strategy 

  • Develop and execute the organization's enterprise internal communications strategy aligned with business priorities. 
  • Establish communication governance, standards, messaging frameworks, and best practices. 
  • Ensure employees receive clear, consistent, timely, and relevant communications. 
  • Oversee enterprise communication campaigns supporting organizational priorities and major initiatives. 
  • Partner with business-level communications functions to align employee messaging and platforms. 

Organizational Readiness, Adoption & Stakeholder Engagement 

  • Lead readiness assessments, stakeholder analyses, change impact assessments, and adoption planning. 
  • Develop strategies that accelerate adoption, increase engagement, and reduce resistance. 
  • Identify organizational risks and barriers to adoption and implement mitigation strategies. 
  • Establish stakeholder engagement plans that build understanding, commitment, and advocacy. 
  • Ensure change interventions address employee concerns while supporting business objectives and continuity. 

Executive & Leadership Communications 

  • Serve as a strategic communications advisor to executive and senior leadership teams. 
  • Develop executive communications, presentations, talking points, toolkits, FAQs, enterprise messaging, and engagement resources. 
  • Coach leaders on communication effectiveness, change leadership, and employee engagement. 
  • Equip leaders to communicate priorities and changes with authenticity, consistency, and confidence. 
  • Strengthen sponsorship effectiveness through engagement strategies and communication support. 

Change Planning & Transformation Support 

  • Lead integrated change and communication strategies for major enterprise initiatives. 
  • Align change management, communications, training, engagement, and reinforcement activities. 
  • Partner with business leaders, Human Resources, Communications, Learning, and project teams to implement change. 
  • Oversee transformation efforts from planning through sustainment and realization of business outcomes. 

Measurement, Insights & Continuous Improvement 

  • Define success measures and reporting processes for change and communications effectiveness. 
  • Monitor adoption, utilization, proficiency, readiness, communication effectiveness, and stakeholder engagement. 
  • Analyze employee feedback, survey results, communication analytics, and change performance data. 
  • Provide executive reporting, recommendations, and corrective action plans. 
  • Continuously improve methodologies, tools, channels, and support models. 

Organizational Capability & Team Leadership 

  • Lead and develop the Change Management and Communications function. 
  • Establish standards and best practices for change leadership and effective communication. 
  • Foster adaptability, resilience, transparency, and continuous improvement. 
  • Build organizational capability through training, coaching, workshops, and leadership development. 
  • Serve as the senior subject matter expert on change, communications, readiness, and stakeholder engagement. 

Qualifications:

Required Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Human Resources, Communications, Organizational Development, Psychology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Change Management, Internal Communications, Organizational Effectiveness, Human Resources, or related disciplines.
  • 5+ years of people leadership experience.
  • Proven success leading enterprise-wide transformation, change management, and communication initiatives.
  • Experience partnering with executive leadership and influencing across a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Strong stakeholder management, strategic planning, communication, and organizational effectiveness skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive adoption, engagement, and organizational readiness for large-scale initiatives.
Preferred Skills
  • Advanced experience developing enterprise change management methodologies and governance frameworks.
  • Background supporting large-scale technology, operational, or organizational transformation programs.
  • Certification in Change Management (Prosci, ACMP, or similar).
  • Experience building internal communications functions, standards, and communication strategies.
  • Experience leading organizational development, leadership effectiveness, or workforce transformation initiatives.
