We’re looking for a strategic and technical Director of Business Systems, Technology to architect, build, and scale our enterprise application ecosystem to support the complex needs of a modern, data-driven software business.
In this role, you’ll lead a team responsible for the technical delivery, integration, and ongoing evolution of our core business systems and integrations that support business operations across the company. You’ll drive technical operational excellence and strategic direction. This includes defining and driving system architecture principles, integration strategy, and governance frameworks, while delivering scalable, secure, and extensible solutions that serve functions across the business.

Reports to: VP of Business Operations and Technology
Enterprise Systems Leadership & Strategy
Own and evolve the architecture of core business systems (including but not limited to, ERP, CRM, CPQ, and billing platforms).
Define and manage system standards that ensure modularity, data integrity, scalability, and extensibility across the stack.
Lead technical evaluations of new systems and tools; define integration and data strategies.
Evaluate existing systems and implement best-in-class solutions to enhance reliability, performance, and maintainability.
Drive M&A integration strategies for business systems.
Systems Engineering & Integration
Manage technical design and implementation of cross-platform integrations, CRMs, ERPs, and other business critical tools
Establish a modern integration framework to connect systems leveraging tools like MuleSoft, Boomi, Workato, or custom APIs to ensure secure, real-time data flow across systems
Own source-of-truth management for enterprise data and ensure synchronization between systems.
Infrastructure, Reliability, and Support
Oversee system uptime, performance monitoring, and technical issue resolution.
Set and enforce SLAs for system incident response, including root cause analysis and prevention strategies.
Talent Strategy & Development
Manage and mentor technical team members, including systems engineers, developers, and administrators.
Develop plans for technical resourcing and training to meet the current and future needs of the business.
Manage vendor relationships, SOWs, and external resources for implementations, maintenance needs, and upgrades.
Provide architectural and technical guidance on all major initiatives related to business systems.
Foster a culture of quality, peer review, continuous learning, and accountability.
Process Optimization & Automation
Partner with business system product teams and stakeholders to re-engineer manual processes through automation, workflow tools, and tight platform integrations.
Champion a systems-led approach to operational efficiency, auditability, and compliance.
Security, Compliance & Data Governance
Collaborate with Compliance and Security teams to ensure secure and compliant infrastructure for all business systems.
Ensure systems are designed and maintained to meet security, privacy, and compliance standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR, ISO 27001).
Define access control frameworks, audit logging, and data governance policies across internal platforms.
Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement
Partner with business system product leadership to drive aligned strategy, scalable solutions, and high-impact delivery.
Translate business goals into technical solutions that scale with the company.
Navigate trade-offs between speed, technical debt, and long-term architecture with product leadership to ensure a shared focus on business value and system health.
Explain technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
Act as the escalation point for complex systems issues and major project decisions.
Technical Execution
Lead end-to-end technical delivery of large, multi-system initiatives (e.g., ERP enhancements, CPQ rebuilds, integration of new tools post-acquisition).
Lead and participate in hands-on configuration, coding, and integration work when needed, especially during complex rollouts or escalations.
8+ years of experience in enterprise/business systems, with 5+ years leading technical teams in a SaaS or tech environment.
Deep experience with enterprise platforms such as NetSuite, Salesforce, Workday, Zendesk, Billing and CPQ systems.
Expert-level understanding of system integration patterns (APIs, middleware, event-driven architecture) and data flow orchestration.
Experience designing and maintaining secure, scalable systems in a cloud-first environment.
Strong understanding of SaaS business processes — quote-to-cash, subscription billing, revenue recognition, and customer lifecycle operations.
Background in driving M&A integrations or global system rollouts.
Proficient in SDLC, Agile delivery, and DevOps methodologies for enterprise systems.
Experience supporting or preparing for SOX compliance, data governance, and operational audits.
Familiarity with technologies like Snowflake, Redshift, or data pipeline tools for downstream reporting.
Experience with CPQ optimization, usage-based billing, or subscription management platforms.
Certification in Salesforce, NetSuite, Workday, or Boomi/MuleSoft, etc. are a plus.
