Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Design and implement lightweight processes to align sales, product/engineering, and customer success, ensuring clarity on priorities and SaaS metrics (e.g., growth targets, deal velocity). Great businesses are built on flawless, consistent execution of core business processes. This is a primary responsibility of the Director of Business Operations
- Data & Insights: Build, maintain, and analyze dashboards to track SaaS KPIs (e.g., pipeline health, release cycle efficiency) and eliminate data speculation for decision-making
- Cross-Functional Catalyst: Drive seamless communication across sales, product/engineering, and customer success, orchestrating quarterly business reviews, strategic planning, and company-wide alignment to shape Boltline’s strategy and roadmap through impactful meetings, QBRs, and org-wide communications
- Leadership Support and Leverage: Manage special projects, prepare investor/board materials, handle ad-hoc tasks, and decide where leaders spend time (e.g., internal/external meetings, travel, and key engagements) to free them for strategy, fundraising, and client interactions
- Stakeholder Network Building: Develop relationships across the organization and externally to enable efficient execution, influencing without authority, and quick resolution of issues
- Business Priorities Drive: Coordinate and follow through on key initiatives, serving as a listening board, ideas generator, and juggler of urgent, last-minute tasks while pivoting as needed
- Team Scalability: Lay the foundation for ops growth, potentially leading a small team on internal programs, external engagements, and thought leadership efforts

- Proven success in building processes, dashboards, and driving cross-functional alignment through influencing and relationship-building
- Strong strategic thinking, planning, and organizational skills to manage executive time, priorities, and business understanding for decision-making
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for crafting comms, running meetings/QBRs, and serving as the go-to for operations, alignment, and projects
- Comfort with 20%+ travel for team offsites or industry events, plus flexibility to handle ambiguity, multitasking, and last-minute pivots in a fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Exceptional ability to simplify complex operational challenges into actionable plans while building trust and powerful relationships across the company
- Passion for improving the success of Boltline customers and our mission of streamlining hardware innovation by killing legacy PLM/MES/ERP/WMS systems
- Data-driven mindset with strong analytical and strategic skills, including experience with tools like Hubspot, Sales Tools, Linear, Stripe, PowerBI, Excel, Subscription Management Tools etc.
- High adaptability, efficiency, and effectiveness in juggling tasks, with a versatile approach that provides visibility into the entire business
- A network of professionals within innovative hardware ecosystems, such as aerospace or manufacturing communities, and a proactive, scrappy mindset for tech startup success
- Direct ops experience at B2B SaaS company, ideally hardware-adjacent (aerospace/robotics) or management consulting at McKinsey, Bain, BCG or a similar firm, focusing on tech/SaaS/hardware strategy and ops
- Track record of applying consulting frameworks to execution (e.g., process optimization, alignment)
