This role is eligible for our FLEX persona and requires candidates to be in our Hingham or Boston office on Tuesday and Wednesday each week.
The Director of Business Inclusion and Belonging will play a pivotal role in advancing our organization's commitment to creating a diverse and inclusive environment. This position is responsible for developing and implementing strategic initiatives that embed inclusion and belonging into the fabric of our business operations. The Director will work across various divisions to ensure that our workforce, workplace and business practices reflect our core values and achieve measurable progress against our organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy that aligns with the overall company mission to foster a culture of inclusion and belonging.
- Provide program management for divisional business inclusion councils to support their businesses in achieving organizational inclusion and belonging objectives.
- Serve as a consultant to select division leaders as they formulate strategies to achieve their inclusion and belonging goals, providing expert guidance and support.
- Manage the "Early in Career" program, which includes summer internships for college students, career exposure opportunities for high schoolers, and the development of strategic partnerships that are inclusive by design.
- Oversee quarterly reviews of inclusion and belonging goal progression, working closely with the People Analytics People Partners teams to track metrics, analyze data, and report on outcomes to senior leadership.
- Collaborate with leaders across the company to champion inclusion and belonging initiatives and drive accountability.
- Stay current with best practices and trends in diversity, equity, and inclusion, bringing innovative solutions to the organization.
- Other duties as needed.
Desired Outcomes (First 12-18 months)
- Establish fully operational and effective divisional business inclusion councils that are demonstrably supporting their respective businesses in achieving organizational objectives.
- Successfully execute and grow the Early in Career program, resulting in a high-quality internship experience, meaningful career exposure for high school participants, and the formation of new, inclusive strategic partnerships.
- Implement a robust quarterly review process for tracking Inclusion and Belonging goals, providing clear, data-driven insights to leadership on progress and areas for focus.
- Become a trusted advisor to divisional leaders, resulting in the co-creation and execution of tailored strategies that yield measurable progress against their specific inclusion and belonging targets.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Sociology, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- A minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in diversity and inclusion, human resources, or a related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing successful diversity, equity, and inclusion programs.
- Strong program management skills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills, with the ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization.
- Proven ability to work with data and analytics to measure the effectiveness of initiatives and inform strategy.
- Experience in the healthcare or insurance industry is a plus.
