The Role

Position Summary: 

We are seeking a highly motivated and innovative individual to join our team as the Director of Business Development. This individual will deliver on key projects and initiatives that are critical to our business, including go-to-market strategy and execution, due diligence on new platform opportunities, and partnerships with enterprise clients. The successful candidate will work closely with FL100 leadership and will directly contribute to the company's success by facilitating the commercial growth of FL100. The ideal candidate must be an independent, open-minded, goal-oriented strategic business thinker with excellent communication skills and comfortable working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. The Director will be responsible for leading the development of new business opportunities, negotiating contracts, managing accounts, strategic business planning, and generating leads. The role is primarily based in Greater Boston with flexibility for some remote work.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Strategy

  • Work closely with FL100 leadership to develop and continuously evolve a robust strategy across platform roadmap, go-to-market model, and business development to maximize value creation
  • Collaborate with FL100 leadership to evaluate and implement business model innovations across value pool and partnership opportunities
  • Proactively identify and conduct due diligence on platform expansion opportunities
  • Build financial models to forecast revenue projections, refine business case, and guide FL100’s commercial growth initiatives

Business Development

  • Work closely with FL100 leadership to source attractive, value-creating BD opportunities, specifically:
    • CRM Management: Effectively use CRM for tracking leads, opportunities, and performance metrics. Design and maintain a roadmap of potential business opportunities
    • Forecasting and Planning: Analyze market trends, sales data, and pipeline metrics to provide accurate sales forecasts and inform strategic planning.
    • Sales Review Meetings: Conduct weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales review meetings to monitor progress, address challenges, and set goals.
    • Performance Monitoring: Analyze sales metrics and reports to identify trends, develop strategies, and improve team performance.
    • Collaboration: Work closely with marketing, product development, and customer service teams to align sales strategies with company objectives.
    • Customer Relationships: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, ensuring satisfaction and long-term business partnerships.
    • Strategic Planning: Develop and implement sales strategies that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
  • Collaborate with FL100 leadership and technical team to drive evaluation of strategic partnerships and opportunities to leverage our platform
  • Design and maintain a roadmap of potential business opportunities for FL100
  • Work with FL100 leadership and internal counsel to structure, negotiate and close different types of partnerships
  • Drive proactive, ongoing surveillance and market analysis to create new opportunities for FL100’s current platform capabilities, which includes identifying and cultivating partnership opportunities with companies who can utilize, expand, and capitalize on FL100’s platform

Business Intelligence

  • Maintain an up-to-date view on industry trends and competitive landscape among relevant generative AI startups and generative AI efforts being pursued by large companies

Qualifications:

  • 10 years of professional experience, including in business strategy, go-to-market strategy, and business development, of which 5+ years of technology enterprise sales, business development and lead generation roles
  • Proven experience in developing and executing successful business growth strategies
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in forecasting and sales pipeline management
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to meld technical understanding, market insights, and competitive intelligence into compelling, value-creating strategies
  • Ability to plan and execute complex projects, and work with diverse stakeholders
  • Passionate about the latest trends in generative AI and their applications to product innovation
  • Solution-oriented, first-principles problem solver
  • Strong project management and facilitation skills
  • Curious, sharp business acumen
  • Results-driven, high-performer with highly collaborative style
  • Excellent presentation and written communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills, especially with PowerPoint and Excel
