This role is located in the Los Angeles Area and will be primarily onsite except when you are in the field. Candidates outside of this area will not be considered unless they are willing to relocate.  We will relocate outstanding candidates. 

What You’ll Do

We are in various conversations with the majority of the OEM’s in the U.S. The Director, OEM Business Development is a brand-new position at Curbee. You will build the playbook, metrics, and long term strategy for success in this role. You will develop new OEM relationships and deepen existing initiatives with automotive OEM at each level, headquarters, field offices, and major auto groups. The goal is to ensure our OEM partners have a clear point of contact with an intentional path forward for successful programs into repeatable, scalable business. 

This is a hands-on role where you must be strategic and operational at the same time. We’re looking for a highly motivated relationship-builder and operator who is comfortable thinking strategically and managing the details required to move complex opportunities forward.

You will report directly to the CEO, strategize with our Sr. Director of Partnerships, and work closely with other key team members to ensure expansion of Curbee’s platform.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new relationships with automotive OEMs, field offices, and major automotive groups.
  • Develop and execute strategies that expand awareness, engagement, pilot opportunities, and revenue.
  • Share insights from manufacturers, field teams, dealers, and industry partners back into Curbee's product, go-to-market, and partnership (dealer sales) strategy.
  • Educate OEM and dealer partners on mobile service, Curbee’s platform, and how to identify opportunities within their dealer networks. 
  • Create and manage pilot programs and OEM initiatives to ensure successful engagement and measurable outcomes.
  • Participate in Parts & Service Club meetings, regional meetings, district events, and other OEM field forums.
  • Partner with Marketing to turn successes into proof points that accelerate expansion across the industry.
  • Capitalize on expansion opportunities to fuel commercial outcomes.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have both automotive OEM AND automotive vendor experience. 
  • Ideal candidate profile is 5+ years of experience working for an automotive OEM, including field experience, AND 3+ years of experience in the automotive vendor space.
  • Alternative candidates will possess 5+ years of OEM field experience OR 5+ years Vendor experience with a focus on Major Auto Group or OEM Sales.  
  • Strong understanding of dealership operations, particularly fixed operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage long sales cycles, strategic partnerships, pilots, and multi-stage business development initiatives.
  • Experience creating customer stories, case studies, presentations, or other business development content.
  • Ability to create and maintain organized account plans, opportunity tracking, and follow-up processes.
  • Must be able to travel extensively (approximately 60%) for OEM meetings, field events, dealer launches, industry conferences, and strategic opportunities.
  • This is a highly visible role. You will be expected to work several days a week from our Los Angeles Area office when you are not in the field.  

Bonus Points

  • Experience in mobile service, fixed operations consulting, dealership technology, or automotive transformation initiatives.
  • Comfortable using HubSpot CRM, Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, and other modern collaboration and sales tools.
  • You use AI natively to work smarter, move faster, and create efficiencies.

Skills Required

  • 7+ years of direct experience working for an automotive OEM, preferably in field operations, fixed operations, dealer development, or a similar OEM-facing organization.
  • Vendor experience calling on dealerships, MAGs, and similar automotive companies.
  • Strong understanding of dealership operations and fixed operations.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage long sales cycles, strategic partnerships, pilots, and multi-stage business development initiatives.
  • Ability to create and maintain organized account plans, opportunity tracking, and follow-up processes.
  • Ability to travel extensively for OEM meetings, field events, dealer launches, industry conferences, and strategic opportunities.
