Assured Information Security (AIS) has an opening for the Director of Business Development. In this position you will lead integrated capture strategy, planning, and execution to position the company competitively and secure new business across DoD, Intelligence agencies, and targeted markets. This role translates corporate growth goals and strategies into market specific plans and activities, builds and directs the NCR business development team, fosters key customer and industry partnerships, and drives collaborative solution development, proposal strategy, and bid decisions through contract award. A TS/SCI is required for this position. 

What You'll Do:

  • Direct capture planning, win strategy development, scheduling, and budget execution.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to identify new business opportunities and develop competitive solutions.
  • Target DoD and Intelligence agencies for growth based on past performance and contract history; builds customer relationships and strategies to close opportunities.
  • Deliver company capability briefings and attends industry conferences, events, and trade shows.
  • Define, achieves, and maintains a strong competitive position by formulating and communicating integrated capture strategies that effectively position the company
  • Formulate and communicates integrated capture strategies that position AIS competitively.
  • Provide input for bid/no bid decisions and manages the process through contract award.
  • Build and nurtures teaming relationships with industry partners.
  • Support marketing efforts and proposal development strategy.
  • Prepare and presents capture management reports and briefings.
  • Identify capture team members, strategic partners, and assigns responsibilities.
  • Work closely with functional departments to ensure an integrated approach to strategic business development and capture activities.
  • Delegate appropriately to maximize project performance and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Develop, coordinate and lead the execution of the NCR growth strategy.  
  • Build and provide effective leadership to the NCR business development team.
  • Manage AIS brand projection across government and industry elements in the NCR.

 Education/Experience/Skillset Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or related field, plus 12 years of demonstrated experience across the full business development lifecycle, OR equivalent combination of education and experience.  
  • 8 years of experience in DoD/Intel cyber and/or C5ISR operations.
  • 4 years of experience in business development leadership at the account or large sub-account level
  • Direct experience working with DoD and Intelligence customers.
  • Strong understanding of the federal procurement process to include FAR and non-FAR acquisition authorities and methods such as OTAs, SBIRs, and BAAs.
  • Strong understanding of the Defense industry.
  • Knowledge of current cybersecurity and C5ISR technologies and issues.
  • Familiarity with beta.SAM.gov and GovWin research tools.
  • Experience writing, editing, and revising proposal content.
  • Knowledge of the Shipley Proposal Process.

Clearance Required:  TS/SCI; Poly preferred

Travel: 25% - 50%

US Salary Range: $156,000 - $205,000 

The salary offered to a selected candidate will be based on several factors including location, skills, and experience. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package which includes employer paid health insurance and a 7% contribution to your 401k, candidates may be eligible for other forms of compensation.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience (12 years experience)
  • 12 years of demonstrated experience across the full business development lifecycle (or equivalent)
  • 8 years of experience in DoD/Intel cyber and/or C5ISR operations
  • 4 years of business development leadership at the account or large sub-account level
  • Direct experience working with DoD and Intelligence customers
  • Strong understanding of the federal procurement process including FAR and non-FAR methods (OTAs, SBIRs, BAAs)
  • Strong understanding of the Defense industry
  • Knowledge of current cybersecurity and C5ISR technologies and issues
  • Familiarity with beta.SAM.gov and GovWin research tools
  • Experience writing, editing, and revising proposal content
  • Knowledge of the Shipley Proposal Process
  • Active TS/SCI security clearance (polygraph preferred)
