Director, Business Development – Brazil Division
Overview
Mastercard is seeking a visionary and results-driven leader to serve as Director of Business Development for the Brazilian Division, Reporting to the Head of Business Development – Transfer Solutions BR, this role demands a relentless drive to win, exceptional business development acumen, and a proven ability to lead high-performing sales teams. The ideal candidate thrives on challenges, builds impactful relationships, and takes ownership of delivering ambitious results across the Division. Deep expertise in the payments industry, particularly in account-based and card-based money transfers (domestic and cross-border), is essential.
Responsibilities
• Lead the Business Development of Mastercard’s Cross-border Services across the Division.
• Leverage in-depth knowledge of regional trends, cross-border payments, and treasury/settlement banking to identify growth opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Build and nurture relationships with stakeholders across financial institutions, including C-suite executives, Treasury departments, International Banking teams, FX managers, and other key areas for Mastercard Move (Mastercard Send & Cross Border Services)
• Drive revenue growth through strategic partnerships and proactive pipeline management, ensuring the delivery of ambitious targets.
• Partner with internal teams, including regional leadership and product development, to deliver market-aligned solutions and inform Mastercard’s growth strategy.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders, providing insights that shape the future of payments and cement Mastercard’s role as a leader in the industry.
All About You
• Proven ability on sales with a competitive, results-oriented mindset.
• Deep expertise in cross-border payments, including account-to-account transfers, treasury/settlement banking, and money transfer products on account-based and card-based rails, both domestic and cross-border, as well as alternative solutions to traditional payment rails like SWIFT.
• Well-established network within the financial services and payments sectors across the Division.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, with a sharp, persuasive edge and a relentless focus on closing the deal.
• Fluency in English. Spanish as a plus.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification. MBA preferred.
