About the Role
Kroll’s Restructuring practice provides effective solutions to clients including major banks, asset-based lenders, private equity firms, law firms, financial sponsors, corporates, and other stakeholders in distressed situations across industries.
We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Director to lead marketing and business development activities for our Restructuring platform in India, while contributing to the broader global Restructuring business.
This role will work closely with Restructuring leadership and practitioners to strengthen client relationships, enhance market visibility, support strategic growth initiatives, and drive a disciplined approach to opportunity management and client development.
The successful candidate will act as a key commercial partner to the business, helping teams identify, coordinate and progress opportunities while supporting an integrated go-to-market strategy across the region.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Enablement & Commercial Support
Partner with Restructuring leadership and practitioners to support business development and growth initiatives.
Coordinate and advance opportunities through the sales pipeline, ensuring appropriate stakeholder engagement and follow-through.
Support client pursuits, proposals, pitch materials, credential presentations and other business development activities.
Assist practitioners in identifying opportunities within existing and prospective client relationships.
Provide commercial support to help maximise conversion of opportunities into engagements.
Facilitate internal collaboration and ensure pursuit activity is coordinated effectively across teams.
Client Relationship Management
Support practitioners in developing and maintaining strong relationships with key clients, referral sources and market intermediaries, including banks, law firms, private equity firms and financial sponsors.
Support strategic account planning and client engagement activities.
Coordinate client meetings, relationship-building initiatives and market engagement programmes.
Help strengthen Kroll's brand presence and visibility within the restructuring ecosystem.
Ensure regular engagement with priority clients and target accounts.
Market Intelligence & Strategic Growth
Monitor market developments, competitor activity and emerging opportunities across relevant sectors.
Provide market intelligence and client insights to support business development planning.
Identify trends, target accounts and relationship opportunities that align with strategic growth objectives.
Support leadership in developing and executing targeted growth initiatives and account plans.
Cross-Service Line Collaboration
Identify opportunities to connect clients with broader Kroll capabilities.
Facilitate collaboration across service lines and geographies to support integrated client solutions.
Support global and regional growth initiatives, key account programmes and cross-selling activities.
Partner with colleagues across the firm to maximise client engagement opportunities.
Reporting & Pipeline Management
Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and opportunity tracking through Salesforce and other internal systems.
Develop reporting and dashboards to support revenue forecasting and business planning.
Track key business development metrics and provide regular updates to leadership.
Promote best practices and consistency in pipeline management and business development processes.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Business, Marketing, Communications or a related field.
10+ years of experience in business development, client relationship management, sales enablement, account management or commercial support within a professional services environment.
Experience within consulting, restructuring, advisory, accounting, legal or financial services sectors preferred.
Demonstrated ability to support opportunity development, client engagement and pursuit activities.
Strong relationship management and stakeholder influencing skills.
Strong commercial acumen and ability to work effectively with senior professionals and leadership teams.
Understanding of restructuring, insolvency or special situations advisory is advantageous.
Experience working within a matrix and cross-border environment.
Excellent communication, project management and organisational skills.
Highly proactive, collaborative and results-oriented.

Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Marketing, Business, or a related field
- 10+ years of business development experience within professional services or consulting
- Restructuring or insolvency experience
- Proven track record in business development and revenue generation within professional services
- Background in business development within law firms, consulting/advisory, accounting/restructuring firms, or former restructuring/insolvency practitioners in commercial roles
- Demonstrated ability to build, manage, and convert a pipeline into revenue
- Established network of clients and intermediaries (banks, law firms, private equity, financial sponsors)
- Strong commercial acumen and ability to position solutions effectively
