We help people find the best products to meet their personalized needs, professionally install them, and most importantly, teach them how to use and get the most out of these products. We have also built the skillset to offer additional products and services when we're in the home, an important capability to our partners as they look to expand their ecosystems in the marketplace.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
We're looking for a strategic and results-driven Director of Business Development to lead OnTech's growth through new partnerships and direct-to-consumer initiatives. This role is critical in shaping our market approach and expanding our presence as a leader in smart home services. You'll oversee a high-performing team responsible for driving revenue, building partnerships, and capturing new market opportunities
You'll collaborate cross-functionally across sales, marketing, and operations to scale initiatives that strengthen OnTech's position in the rapidly evolving Technology, Media, and Telecommunications sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
Leadership & Team Development

  • Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing business development team.
  • Set clear objectives, provide regular feedback, and foster a results-oriented culture.
  • Recruit, onboard, and develop top talent to support strategic goals.
  • Oversee team budgets and ensure effective resource allocation.


Strategy & Growth Execution

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business development strategy aligned with company goals.
  • Analyze market trends, identify growth opportunities, and define go-to-market plans.
  • Expand OnTech's reach through direct-to-consumer channels and strategic partnerships.
  • Define and track KPIs to measure success and report progress to executive leadership.


Partner & Client Engagement

  • Identify and secure new business opportunities through outreach, networking, and strategic initiatives.
  • Lead complex negotiations, proposals, and RFP responses to close deals.
  • Manage and grow relationships with key clients and partners.
  • Monitor and optimize performance of ongoing partnerships.


Market & Industry Leadership

  • Maintain expertise in the smart home ecosystem and adjacent industries.
  • Represent OnTech at industry events, conferences, and forums to strengthen brand presence and source new opportunities.
  • Provide insights to inform product development and customer experience strategies.


Skills, Experience and Requirements
Skills, Experience, and Requirements:
Education: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred.
Experience:

  • 10+ years in sales and business development roles, including a track record of closing high-value partnerships.
  • 5+ years in a leadership role with responsibility for team performance and development.


Skills:

  • Proven success in identifying, negotiating, and closing business opportunities.
  • Strong leadership, team-building, and performance management abilities.


Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency with CRM systems and sales enablement tools.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% domestically.
  • Strong business acumen with analytical and problem-solving skills


Additional Considerations:

  • Deep understanding of the Technology, Media, and Telecommunications landscape
  • Experience in direct-to-consumer channels and digital service models.
  • Intellectually curious, self-motivated, and comfortable operating in high-growth, fast-paced environments.
  • Passion for innovation in the smart home and connected services space


Salary Ranges
Compensation: $185,000.00/Year - $220,000.00/Year
