PosiGen Developer, LLC is committed to delivering the promise of “Solar for All” and is seeking a dedicated and experienced attorney to join our legal department to provide exceptional legal and business support. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem solver who will build strong relationships with key stakeholders, partner with the business to identify and mitigate potential legal and business risks, and offer innovative solutions to optimize how we support the business. Responsibilities include providing expert legal advice and representation in various litigation, employment, and compliance matters. This role requires a high level of enthusiasm, strong analytical and research skills, well-reasoned and pragmatic responses, timely communication, and persuasive advocacy skills, as well as a thorough understanding of federal, state, and local employment and other laws. This position will report directly to the Deputy General Counsel under the Chief Legal Officer.
This position is open to remote candidates located near one of our Centers of Excellence: New Orleans, LA; Houston, TX; Salt Lake City, UT
Essential Job Functions
Using PosiGen’s vision, mission, purpose and values as the foundation, the Associate General Counsel will assist the Legal Department as follows:
- Provide legal advice and counsel to the business on primarily employment law issues, including discrimination, harassment, wage and hour disputes, wrongful termination, and contract negotiations, and also provide legal advice and counsel on other general legal matters, including but not limited to consumer and commercial litigation and compliance issues.
- Collaborate with outside counsel and represent the business in administrative proceedings, mediations, arbitrations, and litigation.
- Conduct thorough legal research and analysis to prepare legal documents, including pleadings, briefs, and settlement agreements.
- Develop and implement strategies to resolve employment disputes effectively and efficiently.
- Conduct investigations into employee complaints and provide recommendations for appropriate action.
- Draft and review employment contracts, policies, and handbooks to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
- Stay updated on changes in employment laws and regulations and advise clients accordingly.
- Conduct training sessions for clients on employment law topics and best practices.
- Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to provide comprehensive legal services.
- Be able to identify, advise on and minimize business risks and propose practical solutions.
- Consult with corporate attorneys and outside regulatory and litigation counsel as necessary to address difficult legal issues.
- Keeps management informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on organizational processes.

Qualifications and Competencies
- Strong analytical, drafting, negotiating and communication skills.
- Self-starter able to work with little supervision and maintain high productivity.
- Sound business judgment with the ability to simplify complex issues and find practical solutions.
- Must possess and demonstrate the highest level of personal integrity and professional judgment.

- Excellent organizational, communication, and presentation skills.
Education/Experience
- Extensive experience in employment law.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Licensed in at least one state (active and in good standing).
- 5+ years of relevant law firm and/or in-house experience.
- Experience in residential solar, renewables, and/or energy matters preferred.
- An understanding of several relevant areas of law applicable to the business including, without limitation, employment and litigation matters
- Proficiency with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Demands

- Primary responsibilities involve regular speaking, listening, standing, walking, using hands to handle or feel objects, and reaching with arms.
- Occasionally, the role may require sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Employees must be able to frequently lift and move objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
- Vision requirements include the ability to focus at close and long distances, distinguish colors, maintain peripheral awareness, perceive depth, and make precise focus adjustments.

Base Salary
$180,000—$180,000 USD
