Description and Requirements
Director - Animal Welfare Sales
Location: Remote
Travel-10-20%
Role Value Proposition:
This position will be responsible for oversight of MetLife Pet's Animal Welfare channel including driving sales and increasing revenue through the channel. The candidate will require a strong knowledge of the Pet Insurance marketplace and of the Animal Welfare channel, humane societies, and rescue shelters. The ideal candidate will have a strategic mindset, analytical, self-starter and be results oriented with a focus on growing out a market leading distribution channel.
Key Responsibilities:

  • Meet and beat annual sales plan for the Animal Welfare channel
  • Analyze current book of business and identify new growth opportunities
  • Refine and develop the sales strategy in partnership with executive leadership and deploy changes to establish MetLife Pet as a leader in the Animal Welfare channel
  • Provide leadership direction in the sales process from qualified leads through to close including prospecting, assessment, negotiation, presentation and close.
  • Develop and implement channel best practices
  • Works with key stakeholders to develop rules of engagement and drive adoption across the specialized sales team as well as maintaining the channel roadmap
  • Build a strong network of relationships with leading Animal Shelters and Humane Societies across the US
  • Be a thought leader in the Animal Welfare and Shelter space with a focus on Access to Care movement
  • Mentors/educates colleagues on marketplace trends and insights and channel guidelines
  • Lead a team of Sales Executives and Account Managers to drive high performance
  • Work in close collaboration with partners across Product, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Legal, Compliance and other teams
  • Provide ongoing reporting and updates to Pet leadership team


Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree with 8+ years of relevant experience across sales, business development
  • Strong business acumen with business development and sales experience
  • Exemplary client management and relationship skills
  • Deep knowledge of Pet Insurance
  • Knowledge of Animal Welfare, Humane Societies and Shelters (strongly preferred)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
  • Proficient in Excel modeling, Powerpoint and Word
  • Excellent negotiation skills, detail-oriented and persuasive.


The wage range for applicants for this position is $96,000 to $160,000. This role is also
eligible for annual short-term incentive compensation. MetLife offers a
comprehensive benefits program, including healthcare benefits, life

time off. All incentives and benefits are subject to the applicable plan terms.
