About This Role:

We’re looking for a full-time Director, AI Engineering  to join our Engineering team  reporting to the VP of AI Engineering. This role is a hybrid role based out of our Bangalore location. 

In this role, you’ll play a key role in driving the success of the Atlas platform by leading and managing the Bangalore engineering team, ensuring strong delivery, team health, and people development. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys working cross-functionally with Product, Engineering Leadership, and technical leads. The ideal candidate brings strong skills in engineering team management, stakeholder collaboration, and execution leadership.

What You'll Do: 

• Manage a team of engineers in Bangalore: hiring, performance, career development, and retention.

• Own team delivery and execution for Atlas, coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders.

• Act as the primary people manager, enabling senior ICs to focus on technical contributions.

• Drive team culture, engagement, and operational health.

• Partner with product and engineering leadership on roadmap and priorities.
   

This role may require occasional travel (up to 10%) for team meetings, training, or company events.

What We're Looking For: 

• 10+ years in software engineering; 3+ years in engineering management.

• Experience managing distributed/offshore teams.

• Strong people skills: coaching, conflict resolution, team building.

• Familiarity with AI/ML engineering environments preferred.

• Proven ability to collaborate with senior technical ICs without micromanaging.
