We’re actively seeking a talented Director & Actuary to join our Enterprise Actuarial Projects team in Newport Beach, CA or Omaha, NE. This role can be hybrid or fully onsite. We believe in empowering our employees to get work done both in and out of the office. Candidates open to relocating to one of these locations are encouraged to apply.
As a Director & Actuary, you’ll move Pacific Life, and your career, forward by working on an agile projects team supporting the highest priority projects within the company. You will fill a new role that sits on a team of actuaries, project managers, and system analysts.
How you’ll help move us forward:

Lead actuarial transformation efforts, such as

Drive consistent enterprise-level implementation of new actuarial reporting requirements and methodologies under external or internal reporting bases.

Oversee implementation of model development projects, conversions and large-scale changes.

Implement required new regulatory changes involving actuarial balances.

Lead execution of large reinsurance transactions.

Oversight of Offshore Resource Program

Work with counterparty on resource management, including onboarding new resources and communication of utilization changes.

Maintain clear program communications with internal stakeholders.

Gather feedback on the program and resource performance.

People Leadership
-
Coach and develop lower-level staff by ensuring a regular feedback loop is established.

Establish career development plans and balance leveraging staff strengths with development opportunities.

The experience you bring:
-
FSA with 8+ years’ actuarial experience.
-
Experience managing, coaching, and developing actuarial professionals.
-
Exceptional organizational, quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
-
Strong stakeholder management through communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills, demonstrating ability to build effective relationships and collaborate.

Working knowledge of various reporting frameworks including regulatory and management reporting; economic value / economic capital, risk-neutral and real-world liabilities, best estimate, and padded assumption setting, etc.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with high degrees of ambiguity arising from a period of significant change.

Base Pay Range:
The base pay range noted represents the company’s good faith minimum and maximum range for this role at the time of posting. The actual compensation offered to a candidate will be dependent upon several factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications and geographic location. Also, most employees are eligible for additional incentive pay.
$193,950.00 - $237,050.00
